Who has had the best window?

Us by far all out attack

Ha ha, go for it.

I like our buys. I also like the fact that Chelsea are putting most of their eggs all on a 32 year old.

Us.

We haven't got weaker and have sorted out our weak areas.

Spurs after that, Liverpool 3rd and Southampton 4th.

Not impressed with Chelsea and think Lukaku out on loan is a mistake. United, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Some of our weak areas...we still don't have a disciplined DM who will break up play and act as an anchor for the rest of the team. We had one with Barry but he wasn't quick enough and was getting too inconsistent, we addressed his pace issue but haven't replaced his good aspects.

I also still think we're fairly weak with full back cover. I've fucking had just about enough of Richards constantly being injured. If anything happens to Zaba long term (red card/injury) we're pretty much fucked. And as good as Kolarov can be going forward at times, he's not a good defender. Again, if anything happens to Clichy long term we're left a bit weaker. These wont be an issue, however, if we can keep Zaba and Clichy fit and playing well.

I'm worried about DM, though!

Sure United have had a poor window but capturing Felliani admittedly for far too much money is good for their club. They have added a very good player to a title winning squad. If it's enough time will tell as everyone else has bought class players.

I'm still unsure about Fernandinho and Navas if I'm honest, one looks and plays like Gelson and the other looks a one trick pony but they need time to gell and adapt to a new way of playing. Negredo looks the business though.

Spurs have lost a world class player and have bought...erm...solidly I suppose.

Liverpool have added solidly as well.

Arsenal obviously stand out as the capture of the window as Ozil is an absolute monster. Top assists in the last 5 years beating Ronaldo and Messi is no mean feat.

Chelsea for me though with Eto'o as the dark horse. A world class proven goal scorer. Will depend on his fitness but the player is class.

All in all? Every team has strengthened with players better than what they had except Spurs who admittedly have bought half a team on the proceeds of one sale.

Have we done enough to capture the title back? Maybe but I'm very wary of Chelsea. They have spent some serious money on some very good players.

Milner could cover at RB if needed and Lescott at LB if needed?

IMO we have the strongest options of any team when it comes to fullbacks.

CDM I agree. However Milner, Rodwell and Garcia should be suffice. I reckon we should have tried to get De Rossi again, even on a loan. Can see next season us going for one.

-- Tue Sep 03, 2013 4:55 pm --

Dunno. In the end we'll only know at the end of the season when we've seen how the players and teams have worked out on the pitch. What I can say is that I think we've got all the players the manager wanted and we got them in early with one exception, so we seem as well set up as possible. United appear to have had a poor window (to say the least!) though their diehards are saying that they won the title with the same players they've got now, though I'm sure they'll come to rue the departure of Bebe... Arsenal have probably bought the most talented player to come to the PL in the window, but whether he's the most effective way of spending £40+ million for Arsenal is very much open to question. Spurs and Liverpool have added numbers and the individuals seem to be good players, but whether their clubs will only see the best of them next season because there are so many of them is the question. Everton have got good players on loan, especially a midfielder, and should prosper. It may be that clubs from lower down the table will prove to have had the "best" window, but it will be hard to tell - an improvement of one place for, say, Norwich, might go largely unnoticed, but an improvement of one place for us would be sensational!

I'm not sure spurs have actually strengthened all that much when you think they lost bale . Strengthened, yes, but in a big way, no . Arsenal needed way more than ozil IMO . Rags were laughable when you compare to who they were linked with . Still think fellaini is a good signing for them though . Liverpool did well but in terms of maybe pushing for a top hour spot and that's it . I think we did well , got players that we needed . I just want to see jovetic slip into that side . Chelsea done well in William and eto and added to an already strong team .

I'd say Liverpool I think they are back in the running for 4th spot.

Obviously if our signings gel which they will when Jovetic plays and links it all up we will be awesome.
