Kompany is by far and away the most talented as a footballer, Demichelis the most accomplished in achievement terms.

My personal favourite was Dunne though I loved Van Buyten for his short stint

I think Vinny is the best but Dave Watson is a close second for me, loved watching him dominate the opposition and when he headed the ball it stayed headed...!!

I concur, with knobs on.

Here here, a collosus of a centre half. Regularly headed the ball away from corners as far as the half way line!

Mike Doyle

Although Mike did play central defence in some games he was more of a right wing half, in that great Mercer team George Heslop was more of the central defender than Doyle, Heslop was tidy as well!

Kompany & Lescott were a fantastic partnership and made each other up their game. I think it's fair to say that without the other l their performances dropped. Those two definitely have the highest peak, but Dunne probably wins it for his consistency.
