Not many defenders being picked but I'm going to plump for two of the best ever. Both one-club men, both for AC Milan, both made defending look effortless.

Johan Neeskens, still the best player i've ever seen 'live'.
Marco Van Basten, greatest striker i've seen but sadly blighted by injuries.
Paulo Maldini, classy in everything he did.
Maradona, best player ever.

Pablo Aimar is probably my favourite non-City player of all time, just so technically good and every touch was class. A bit like Silva, but with more of a willingness to run with the ball at his feet, an absolute joy to watch and just such a shame he picked up so many injuries.
