I would cherry pick the best of Southampton's players.

They have Premier League experience, good technique and the majority of them would be British.

Clyne, Shaw and Lallanna.

This new bird would sell.

Add in Fernando, Zuchillini and Mangala and we're good to go.

Shaw ? difficult. Clyne ? Not enough. Lallanna ? Not enough.

I only agree for Fernando, Zuculini, Mangala.

Schneiderlin (possible) and Shaw (improbable) from Southampton would both fill needs and are both good quality players.
Mangala or a CB of similar quality (and less injury prone than VK) is an absolute must.
Add in another impact player with pace a la Navas but hopefully on the left (Di Maria?) and that's a very successful summer

This summer window is another vital one - we may win a few trophies this season or we may be nearly men - either way we haven't run away with the league and therefore it is clear that our squad still needs strengthening. Pellegrini is a fan of attacking full backs but he also rates Clichy defensively above Kolorov (as we all do) - now is the time to be looking forward and Shaw would be a good purchase to bolster our home grown quota and also build for the longer term. I doubt this will happen though, there are more essential positions to strengthen. Centre back is key - we need to bring in at least one proven centre back. Defensive midfield is another key position - someone of similar style to Fernandinho. Right back remains a concern - Zabaleta will have had a manic season and then a World Cup - we need cover and Richards is never fit. Other than that we need to be shrewd and look for future talents - either from within our academy or elsewhere. I feel the club are trying to be a bit more shrewd with their scouting as with Zucculini. Longer term we need to find someone to fill Yaya's shoes and that is a position that is worth the money!
