Who Will Pose A Threat Next Season

I hope you are right. Playing newly promoted sides early on when they are bubbling with excitement and enthusiasm at being in the prem is probably the worst time to play them.
The opening away fixtures are horrific as far as I am concerned. Arsenal have had a full pre-season and a new manager, Wolves are superb and will shock the Premier League, Cardiff will kick us off the pitch. I am optimistic long-term and think we'll win the title again but we will have an early glitch.

I don’t think I’ve accused you of being either a “supposed” or “lesser” City fan. However, if you believe that we weren’t the victims of a large number of genuinely shocking refereeing decisions last season, then that is of course your prerogative. What it doesn’t mean is that literally everyone who disagrees with you, does so because they can’t view City dispassionately. If United had been on the unpunished receiving end of even half the number of simply awful challenges on our players last season, the eruption from Mt Mourinho would have consumed everything within a 500 mile radius of the Swamp and the media would have run with it for months. Pep got stick just for politely asking that ALL players be properly protected.......

I view city passionately. Always have. When we weren’t in this period, so like when we were just another club making the numbers up in the league, it was always so much noise coming from those challenging for trophies about how hard done to they are. Our fans call it the MuEN. Rags call it the Manchester City Evening News. Same with ref decisions. The difference now is we are relevant and we are challenging, so I guess some fans just instinctively act to things like those fans of the long term successful clubs do - like the world is against them.

Ask any fan of any club, successful or not, and they’ll say their club is hard done to and that the favoured teams - number one now being us - get all the decisions.

Not you who accused me btw.

Broken record. There’s plenty of them on both sides.
I try to be balanced although I know that’s never going to be a 100% will always have a tint of blue, you try so hard to try and portray everything is above board, it comes across as your mission in life to the point to the extent I tend to disregard your posts. something I shouldn’t as I’m sure you make some good points, you do yourself no favours with your see no evil speak no evil approach.

It could be that Liverpool will put in a challenge.

But once again, it is based on a mythical situation, where their new signings all improve them significantly & their players from last season, all perform to the same or better standards, & they make an enormous improvement whilst we slip back, rather than any kind of concrete reasoning.

We have seen absolutely nothing yet, to give even the slightest indication this will happen, but plenty have bought it, just the same.

The same happened last year. Although their spending was nothing like currently. The boom and bust cycle has yet to be broken.
They are fighting that, too.

Yup, same top 4 as you mate, in the same order......assuming that Chelsea don’t go and sell Hazard and Willian!

I'd go with that too.

Chelsea are a bit of an incognito regarding new manager and transfer plans but it's difficult to see beyond Liverpool as our main threat.

If Alison is as good as everyone says, they won't concede many. When Karius made those awful mistakes it was enjoyable at the time but now.....

Everytime ive seen alison he’s been shocking! but he must be some keeper to keep ederson out of brazil side

But you won’t remember a challenge on *insert other clubs player here* whereas the fans of those clubs players will. We are the media darlings according to them. Pep can do no wrong. Refs are all for us. Those are the views of fans of those clubs. On here, many think the opposite but that united are favoured etc etc. It’s just a go to defends mechanism and always will be. The thing is though is when posters on here like myself don’t agree, and can see things more without obsessed, blue tinted goggles, the ‘supposed city fan’ comments appear.
The fact is fans of every club think their club and players are hard done to. We aren’t any different but it doesn’t mean everyone has to believe the same to be deemed more a city fan than those who don’t believe things, or those who can see things more without said goggles.

Liverpool fans remember every decision they think they should have had for the past 40 years & still go on about Mane being sent off.
