Why did we let Zinchenko go?

Funny that because I remember him coming on at 2 0 down to villa at home and he beat several men to set up the first goal, zinchenko changed that game, without him the dippers would be champions
as I have answered previously, I said not very often and name another time he did it.
(It was the second goal and one man BTW)

But better than what we have now…

Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn’t it,even in football,he was let go as was deemed not good enough, and as a match goer myself I could fully see why,but how some are making him out to be the new Philip Lahm are still hurting from yesterday, and need to have a think

I'd like to point out that I liked Zinchenko as a person and as a player but to build him up into a World class player is insane - he did the same job at left back as Delph did but I didn't see many on here crying when he left.

Sterling and Jesus I didn't mind seeing leave. Zinchenko, I still can't get my head around. He should have never left.

Actually, in order of keeping, my take is - First Jesus - Second Sterling - Third Zinchenko

It was the second goal, he often beat players and put great crosses in the box, he overlapped well, he was a very good versatile player, and always gave 100% and will probably have another prem winners medal come the end of this season

You use the word good and he was good, but is good good enough for City now?

I love Zinchenko but we all forget how lacking he was defensively. With how shambolic our defending is currently, he wouldn’t solve our problem and most people here would be calling to say ‘we should’ve sold him to arsenal when we got the chance’.

Zinchenko leaving isn't the reason we are in the position we are now

Great squad player, but the state of us at this moment and arsenal being top he has little bearing on bar being part if their well drilled squad

Zinchenko's good is better than almost everything that Cancelo has produced in a City shirt.

He'd definitely be good enough for City until we get a genuine left back. It was an exceptionally poor decision to let him leave without a replacement being signed.

Yes clearly good is enough for city now, we had some good players playing vs Southampton, and they had 1 player we deemed not good enough, but was.better than the players on the pitch for us that we deem good I.e. Cole Palmer

You honestly think that Zinchenko is better than peak Cancelo?

Zinny was a pretty limited player.

People are only questioning the logic because we didn’t replace him.

If we’d have signed a competent, top class left back none of us would be that bothered.

Sadly, the LB position is in the blind spot of everyone at the club. It’s as if we’re so shit scared of doing another Mendy we just don’t bother with that position anymore.
