Why do you follow City?

As a masochist ,it was cheaper buying a season ticket at City, than getting a prostitute to whip me every week.
I may have to support county if this continues.
Rather have the pro.... er; actually scrub that reply!

just the way ive been brought up , in a massive blue family

similar for me - but more a consequence of how I was brought-up, in total rag infested waters.

I remember reading the pink final (loving everything football related, I used to read every inch obsessively as an 8 year old kid!). Then all the ants n uncles and the tribe would gather on sundays and eventually the table talk would turn to football and how did "shitty" get on etc etc. Despite having read how well City had done and how fortunate the rags had been to scrape a win, the conversation was always the same - ie how the wonderful red army was sweeping all before it whilst in the meantime those pathetic Blue losers were getting all they deserved.

I won't have known or been able to spell the words at the time but the rank injustice, ignorance and hypocricy made it's mark. I will never, ever forget the day I told my old man I wanted to go to see City. These were people who had selected their team based on a combination of religious expectation (in those days Catholic = rags!) and blatant sympathy (ie Munich). The 1st ever Blue in my all catholic rag-loving family. They even sent the priest round for the ritual exorcism - priceless!!

Having visited the fans forums for the rest of the teams in the Premier Division and found them to be full of dickheads who know nothing about the game, wums, chavs, spotty youths, illiterates and ignorami I ended up on here.

with the same people, and i carnt remember why i supported city, dont come from manchester, dads family are leeds fans, most at school was leeds pool or scum, so i guess im a glory hunter from the 70s

If City was a film we would have the best script ever, cause just can't see when or where the next twist would appear...

"City is like a box of chocolate, you just don't know what you gona get"

Usual thing...Dad took me as a youngster:-

Memorable first matches on my included Bert Trautmann's testimonial match in 1964... and against Swindon Town in January 1965 with City's lowest ever attendance 8,015...Mike Summerbee turned out for Swindon......I stood in the almost deserted scoreboard end...........

Followed City since I was about 8 years old, we lived down sarf, my best mate at the time liked City, so I began too, he then changed to Derby County, QPR and is now a season ticket holder at Spurs. Me ? i never budged for a second I was too in love with Marshy, Bell, Tueart, Corrigan and Summerbee.
