Putting aside the UK media who make these stories much bigger than they are this idea of "benefit choice lifestyle" has been created step by step over the last 50 years. It has developed into a geneational driven aspirational culture that has normalised a benefit lifestyle. It will take a significant cultural shift, ignited by a benefit reduction, to address the behaviour of this minority.

Now bugger off I have 10 kids to feed at mcdonalds and a film to watch on the 50" plasma!

No wonder people dont want to work! me and my girlfriend earn just over 25k between us a year working 40 hour weeks each. No wonder this country is becoming a laughing stock. You should be rewarded for working instead of having your ass slapped like they do.

Is that what people see life as; compulsory education, straight into grafting for 50 years non stop, retire and die? Is that a 'good life'?

I know, with the amount of people in the world we do need people to work in order to live, but this system seems to have become tradition without anyone questioning it.

I don't agree completely, but i can understand that some people have seen the system, seen a way to 'cheat' it and are currently exploiting it. Fair play in a way, they get up when they want, can seemingly do whatever they want and don't need to answer to anyone.

Sounds a nice life if you can get it.

Your comments almost question why we're here, another topic altogether, but one which I often think too. I mean who says we can't my a wigwam on some big grassy roundabout somewhere, stretch out in the morning with fuck all on and live off berries?!!! Who says what the 'norm' is? Absolutely. I haven't seen anywhere in The Sun (happy to be proved wrong on this), about the millions that the taxman has just written off for Vodafone. It was all over Private Eye, but I can't remember seeing any front page spreads about that in the tabloid press. I fucking hate tax dodgers as much as benefit cheats, in fact I would go as far as saying that I hate them more...
