Why we will win the league!

Yeah wasn't it against Tottenham that Carragher shouted something like "SALAH YOU DANCER!" when Lloris gifted them the winner, feck knows why but it nauseating in the extreme. I think I switched the telly off straight afterwards

EDIT - could have been against Chelsea when it scored that worldie, I've tried to erase these moments from LFCTV's coverage (Sky) that we've had to endure recently
You were right first time.

Won all this season without conceding a goal, if that helps.

1-0 away at Spurs, and 3-0 at home to Wolves.
Thanks mate, but I was thinking more over a 3/4 year period, I know we lost to Chelsea one Monday nite at home under Pellers I think, but can't think of the rest.

Why is it silly? We played our second game against Liverpool on 3 January. Under a head to head, we would have known from then that scoring extra goals would be irrelevant as we'd won the head to head. The current system encourages teams to keep scoring as goal difference/goals scored can change right up to the final game

No because goal difference should decide it before head to head. Goal difference, goals scored then head to head as a final separation tool. Then a play off if required. And unless you play the team in 2nd/joint 1st on the last day the head to head wouldn't really be in your thinking. You would still expect or aim to win the league by getting more points than anyone else. On 3rd Jan we won but still had so much to do. Neither team would be impacted by head to head and Goal difference should still be first point of call in determining the winner.

It is silly to have a play off game when teams have already played each other twice and those results will likely show who was better. Why should we play Liverpool again when we have already proven in the two games we are a better team. And equally, if it was the other way around I would hold my hands up and say the same thing.

Just read, if true it still makes no sense.

If two TV companies share rights. One with Tuesday games, the other with Wednesday and the ties didn't alternate you would have one with Liverpool and Barca and one with Spurs and Ajax. Whilst CL semi finals, there is clearly a gulf in the teams involved and likely TV audiences. They reversed the fixtures to make sure each TV company had the bigger game once. In England BT show them all, so no impact. But might not be the case elsewhere.

Fair enough. As someone else mentioned, money will be the reason for the playoff game, coupled with the fact it's never got to 'goals scored' yet, never mind a playoff/head to head decision

I accept that, but if 2 companies share the rights surely (for the semi final) an arrangement can be made.

Anyway its not our problem :)

You're not thinking of the €€€€€
Indeed.

They only people who are talking up potential banana skins are Liverpool fans and the football media in this country, who have supported Liverpool from day one.

Not a word is being uttered about Newcastle away and Wolves at home for Liverpool.

If City had those two remaining games left, and Liverpool had Leicester at home and Brighton away, Liverpool fans and the Football Media would be celebrating a Liverpool title in public by now.

Let’s get some perspective, ah!

They, Liverpool fans and the football media are doing their best to get into our heads, and to convince us that our last 2 games aren’t winnable, whilst Liverpool will win both of their remaining harder games, in-between Barcelona.

Some of our fans may think that, but thankfully the vast majority of our fans, the players, and Pep don’t.

Both teams winning both their games isn't interesting though. Only us dropping points makes it interesting

We’ve come through our (on paper) difficult and congested period and now our task is as straightforward as anyone could have asked for - best Leicester and Brighton and we are champions. Liverpool’s is much more difficult, win 2 games either side of competing with Barcelona and hope City don’t win both.

I know which position I’d rather be in
