Wilfried Bony

Would offer us another dimension in terms of a 3rd man in midfield due to his great hold up play
just what aguero needs

Good signing IMO, don't need a top 5 world class striker IMO, as we already have one and money is better spent elsewhere. Bony will (hopefully) be a bit cheaper, reliably get goals and be a good option to turn to.

I was impressed when Bony played for Swansea against City earlier this season and on the other occasions I've seen. His hold up play was as good as I've seen and when I saw him holding off Kompany and indeed putting him on his arse he looked a player to me with a good eye for a goal.

I'd still be surprised as I didn't think we'd have the budget but think he'd be a good addition to our squad.

For £30mill he is overpriced although he is a great player, I'm not sure it would be sensible to buy him in January and lose him for 2 months straight away, also why sign someone and not play him in the champs league seems a little to much like paper talk to me.

Just realized he is going to ACON. It loos bit less likely now. If we are going to buy him than it's either we know one of Aguero/Dzeko is going to be sideline longer than we publicly said or one of Jovetic/Dzeko will be sold in the summer so we want to buy him before some other club does.

I like him as a player, strong as fuck and an eye for goal but concerned if its a jan deal with him away to the AFCON.

Bony allows us to play the Aguero alone upfront system (which has been our best system) ALL season long, and to interchange in case of / to avoid injury.

So you don't NOT recruit the best players (or people in normal roles) if they are the ideal person for the job, just because they are not available for 1 initial month.

What you get out of it long-term is well worth the short-term blow.
