Wilfried Bony

I think he'll be a great signing. He's already conditioned to the Premier League, he's a proven goalscorer and the only fly in the ointment is FFP and can we actually afford him with all the restrictions. Maybe it will be a loan deal with a an option to buy in the summer that would be one way round it I suppose.

I reckon we could have got Kane for £35-£40 million.

Disappointing, We should be aiming for much higher than Bony with £30 million

I like Kane a lot, but at the moment he is just a 6 month wonder and still has a long way to go to prove being worth £40m

£30m for Bony is about right in my opinion, he is a proven 20 goal a season striker in the PL, the next level up in Suarez, Sanchez etc.. You are looking at £50m+!
Arsenal got Sanchez for £35 million..

It always baffles me when people on here mention ACON, he will be back in Feb..

Even if he wasnt going to ACON the transfer would have probabily been dragged out until the last week in Jan.

If you think of it that way he will miss just a couple of weeks..
I agree with this. If we tried to sign someone and the deal dragged on til close to the deadline the only games he could play in til Bony is back are Hull (h), Stoke (a).

We will have him for the run in (13 league games, fa cup 5th round onwards and the CL)

Thought this was just paper talk but looking ever more likely to happen. He could well be, like Negredo was, the perfect foil for Aguero, but it'll be interesting to see how he deals with not being the main man and on potentially being benched for big games, does he have the mentality required?

But you wouldn't class Sanchez as an out and out goal scorer. He's more of a winger IMO.

I don't get it. He's not going to be able to play when we need him.

totally agree, would be surprised if we signed him as I wasn't even sure we had funds left due to ffp to match 25-30 mill....

Nastasic off to either AC or Schalke, throw Sinclair into the Bony deal at it may only be £15m nett.

Who City are going to drop from CL squad? We are only restricted to 16 foreigners in CL squad.

Because Barca were desperate for funds knowing they could only buy in last summers window.

If we wanted him now, you won't get much change out of £40m-£50m from Arsenal.

Awesome news,get the deal done.

It always amazes me when Blue Mooners take for gospel the transfer figures which are pure speculation from the media. If we want this player then I am more than happy for our usual personnel of Khaldoon & Cheekie to tie this deal up for the best interests of Manchester City and not some Blue Mooners who cant see the fucking wood for the trees.

Is that a dig at me Oakie?

Hahahaaaaaaaaa. No mate it certainly isn`t and I can see from your posts on this thread that you`re as delighted as me,if this deal goes through. How can anyone who supports City not be delighted at us going for the PL 2014 leading goalscorer.
This is the type of player we need to give us a final push for the title and OK he wont be available for maybe another 6 weeks, but we`ve already proved that other players can score and who knows Kun could be available before the end of the month.
Positively delighted mate if it comes off.

Not bothered about the price

Not bothered about the AFCON

I think it would be a very good signing, and he could be the perfect foil for Sergio

He misses 4-5 weeks, so what. It means he is available for the last 3.5 months of the season, or as we know it, the business end :)

if, as our only fit striker, he scores the goals that put us through against Barcelona, then i'll be quite happy.

i'm not keen Jovetic as a striker, but Aguero, Dzeko and Bony seem a decent trio.

I don't think we will register him for the CL, someone will drop out and that will no doubt upset and spell the end for that player at City, an I can't see who that player would be.

I never thought about the transfer been dragged out so he we wouldn't have seen him until feb anyway, I personally liken him to Drogba and for that he gets a yes from me.

This is a third title in four seasons right here ladies and gentleman.

What a player this guy is and what an impact he can have on both our team and rivals.

Wanted this guy for 12 months, ever since he bullied Komps at their place last season.

Seriously, a bit like the clowns who never considered Lampard world class, until they saw him at close quarters, this fella will be a real eye-opener.

Happy to hav him if we do get him, but I'd hope this sees the end of Dzeko. Still cannot see any occasion when you'd want Edin on the pitch if you could have Bony on instead.
