Wolves PL (A) | Post Match Discussion

does that strategic plan involve giving one of our biggest rival 2 red cards and disallowing a goal that was clearly onside?
The disallowed goal seemed mad, very rushed..red cards though, like Rodri's had to be given....weal first yellow for Jota but his second was a yellow all day...as for Rodri ..that was a sending off pre Christmas style back in the day. He seemed like he was dying to get sent off. Very un Rodri like! (must have a wedding to go to!!!) Arsenal with no decent CM's...fk

They weren't shite, they just couldn't break down their two banks of five. That defence was solid, but it was aided and abetted by Pawson who gave them the confidence to go in hard on us because they knew he'd be more lenient.

He 100% effected the outcome of that game when he booked Walker early doors then failed to book the Wolves player for similar. Let them get away with kicking the ball away at the breakdown, yet booked Alvarez for the same thing.

When he failed to give a Wolves player a second clear yellow, who then went and scored the winner, you can't say that defeat was nothing to do with the referee. Scudamore's 'strategic plan' in full swing. That game was NOT a level playing field.
Who was the Wolves player who wrestled Doku to the floor? He didn't even get booked and yet Rodri was dismissed for far less.
That Doku incident gave Wolves license to play a very physical game as they knew that Pawson wasn't going to penalise them for doing so.
For some players it's the letter of the law and yet for others it's "ah well, he was just a bit clumsy, we'll let it go."
Remember the way Scholes was reffed back in the day?

Agree with this. I can’t help thinking that the frustration is borne out of the regular players sensing the lack of genuine quality we have now. We have lost truly exceptional players and the replacements are good players but not top level. Rodri as much as said this recently. I feel Pep is frustrated by it too. Hopefully we get Silva and Stones back soon as we can’t compete with today’s midfield. Grealish will be better with more fitness and we need his ability and drive. Doku may prove to be a decent player but he’s not at the level yet. We need to settle on our midfield and make pragmatic decisions on those who will not take us forward.
Injuries killing us, typically our new signings only play the odd 20 mins and domestic cup games - throwing them in this year. Gundo leaving a killer with the injuries we have, Rodri what was in his mind, very streange sending off, he was almost looking for it. Phillips , a rare bad buy, but I never saw him as a blue as he was on the floor too often at Leeds, Lots of last ditch tackles - no place in CM with us like that..very odd buy..but there you go, all teams have cycles up the Blues

But if it was a corrupt strategic plan, those things don’t happen.

Jones is given a yellow for reckless play and lack of excessive force (could easily be argued that’s the case when you read the LOTG), lines are drawn that show Diaz was onside (he looked onside with the naked eye, never mind with lines) and Jota’s first yellow isn’t given (I don’t think it was one) and therefore the second he did get doesn’t mean he’s sent off…

Liverpool go on to win convincingly with 11 men and make it look like it’s going to be a top title challenge this season.

Liverpool have more basis for an argument of corruption due to theirs treatment from the refs this season than we do.

That wrestle was unreal. Gomes fouled all match and was allowed to. Pawson is the worst of a bad bunch, though picking one from the mireshite is not easy.

We're having an injury crisis.
Most teams will have one at some point in the season.
I'm glad we're having ours at this end of the season rather than the business end.
I agree with you, we'll be fine.
I’d hardly call missing three players ann injury crisis. Rodri red was brain dead so in total we where missing 4 players. To put it into perspective

The squad is simply too small and is lacking in quality in depth. These results will happen

That's exactly what i said, the goal, weak sending off's very rare but da pool were had over. They look like winners at the moment, pace, power, direct play.. etc... they will win nearly every game it looks...

That last fella example shows the stupidity of everything, if he can't see how they have been helped or given the benefit of the doubt in the past then there is no helping him or the fact we have been fucked over enough times to be pissed off ourselves.

Their title season alone should have been enough to convince anybody of corruption after what was said by the PL chairman.

At least on here, you will get folk that admit if we got a lucky decision, they have had some help and some shit this season, maybe the nod has gone to Arsenal to be the recipients of good fortune, haven't had a southern team winning the PL for a while ;)

Hang on, name me those "8" united players who are injured and we'll see how that compares with Stones, Debruyne and Bernardo. 25% of last season's treble winning team.

But that’s part of my point. Every single set of fans in the country think their team is hard done by the officials and talk about countless examples of it from week-to-week.

Wolves fans were going mad at the ref yesterday and were chanting ‘Premier League, corrupt as fuck’ about four different times because our players weren’t shown yellow cards and Walker not shown a second yellow.

Opponents won't get this lucky again probably with deflection own goal etc but Pep has to be worried about the play. Haven't been that great and with relatively easy fixture list. Play like this next week against Arsenal and they will score more freely with quality they have.

We have played SHU And Burnley both promoted Forest and Wolves who were flirting relegation last year and WHU. Newcastle is only half decent team we have faced and challenge will much harder with tough games coming up. Need to get the lads fit and tactics spot on

Would that suggest dropping Haaland?

Seems a bit mad if that is what you're implying.
We don't have to drop him. Traditionally, Pep has played the false 9 formation with small target men but similar to what Kane did at Spurs, Erling would have to learn to drop into that AM role every now and then. Right now he just stands up front making his movements very predictable.

We have had as many decision go for us as anyone tbh (who can forget the rodri handball at Everton which arguably won us the league), all fans think there is come huge conspiracy out to get them.

Rodri should have controlled himself against Forest, would have won this otherwise and the own goal was avoidable.

Wolves can celebrate all they want to, they're just a make up the numbers side like Wimbledon and Coventry were in the 90s. They won't ever know what it's like to be European champions and it was their mouthy manager back in the 1950s saying they were the best team in Europe before even such a competition was in existence, to give the UEFA head an idea. Since then they have unintentionally invented something they have never and never will win!.

Some positives after yesterday

Top of the league after 7 games despite loads of injuries. If we're still there or there abouts when the likes of KDBget back we'll piss the league.

The ridulous "city could win every game this season" bollocks will shut up.

We all know we have a game like yesterday in us, nothing new. It's not hurt us too much in the past.

After the Liverpool game, the VAR conspiracy nuts, and there's plenty on here, might just have to realise that it's not a conspiracy. It's just incompetence., an awful lot of incompetence.

My point is with the resources we have we should be beating wolves with 3 injured players. Besides stones and kdb usually miss periods so it’s hardly surprising they are out. So to say 3 players being out constitutes an injury crisis it shows how weak the squad is

So you pick the only one that you can really think of but we can list a handful of absolutely rotten decisions lol

I know that puts me in the conspiracy group but there really are so many decisions and oddities that go against us, even the randomness of yellow cards to fouls ratio.
