What the fuck was the explanation for not giving Sweden a penalty? Why didn't they go to VAR? Who makes the decision as to whether it's reviewed or not?
The way VAR is used now, do we even need linesmen?
Yes, cos it really struggled in the previous 150 years. Just don't know how it coped.
There s been several that have been turned round by VAR that have been highly debatable e.g. the handball pen the other day in the Denmark game which was diabolical and others that have been looked at and not given e.g. Argentina not to mention loads that haven't even been looked at ! It's a complete farce of a system taking the refs subjective decision to the men in their nuclear bunker subjective decision. As I have said all along I'm ok with Offside s where incidents take place and serious foul play but that's it.
Just like penalties we get now, it will be reviewed in our favour when we're 3-0 up, but never when it's a match winner. I'm surprised all city fans can't see this.Tonight shows us how City will get stitched up VAR. Favoured team will get benefit. Ref can call that pen either way and not get it reviewed becuase some doubt.
That is a very good question, hope he didn't spill any of it,such a wasteWas it John Burridge who used to sit at home watching the football with his Goalkeeper gloves on, how did he hold his can of Stella and eat his crisps?

Love VAR we getting MORE decisions RIGHT.
There we have it.... VAR now being used for yellow cards.... thin end of a wedge many have been predicting...
LOL!!
Was the it the correct decision or not, VAR or not??
It was.
Problem with VAR is that it's used somewhat arbitrarily,or appears to be.
Clear penalties missed,being a negative.
It's still a work in progress.

Apart from it wasn't. The ref was just waiting until the player got himself to his feet
Yes, in this version which is CLEARLY flawed!
I hate this version for all the potential it could be, done correctly.
I have no idea who would sign off on a half thought out presentation.
Completely agree pal.
It has changed some dodgy decisions,
Neymars play acting for instance.
So it hasn't been all bad, providing some proper thought goes into when and what VAR is used for,and made clear it's use to everyone,it should be a success, eventually.
I don't want it to be a crutch for shit referees though.
