Xgorton has citycard news

If fans could pay at the gate without fannying around with access cards we would sell out most games.

Have to agree with you ......

some people must look at the varying card situations at City that you can apply for , and just think it's too much trouble !

Matches didn't seem to sell out at Citycard level so there was little point in getting one unless you needed peace of mind before sorting your day out at City!

being up here in Edinburgh it is worth it for that reason

If you go for the home ticket priority, how early are we going to be able buy tickets? They have'nt really explained that part, they just want the £15 extra without even telling ya..

I agree, I'm member of SC so not sure if I should even bother with this as get my tickets through that

It was only a matter of time before the club charged to be an official member. The cost of maintaining and "backing up" a database with the details of every person who's ever been to a game (so had an Accesscard) must have been colossal.

The club aren't too bothered about giving fans a free Accesscard when they only go to one game every year. It costs the club money to send out e-mails and texts to these fans and administer the data.
By getting a tenner/£25 off members, they automatically get buy in from the people who will be purchasing match tickets on a regular basis.

Anyone moaning about shelling out a tenner needs to wind their neck in (in my opinion!). Yes, it was free - when you had the pleasure of watching world beaters like Samaras, Bischoff and Sibierski.
i am sick of hearing this excuse everytime anyone isnt happy with something so the club can charge what they want treat fans however they want somebody has the audacity to disagree and gets told its ok because we used to have samaras now we have tevez seems to be the stock.answer for everything .

Agreed...what a load of fucking shit.

He missed out the following:

We could easily be back at York away
We're not watching an Alan Ball side anymore
We could easily have Macken, Dabo and Samaras back in our squad

It's so cliched it's untrue and it's something what really grinds my gears.

There's several posters on here that do this.
It's not a cliche, It's true.

As I mentioned before, the club need to balance the books due to the additional costs now associated with running the club.
It's pretty basic business acumen. If your expenditure goes up, you have to either increase revenue or cut costs. One of the costs that will be cut is sending out e-mails and texts to fans on the system who are not going to by a ticket. The time and effort spent sending out these mailers will now go to fans who have expressed an interest in wanting to buy a ticket.
Had the club pulled a stunt like QPR and doubled the ticket prices, fair enough, but they haven't. They're covering the cost of the membership and trying to put off the 1-2 games a season fans who cost the club money.

rubbish

this will just put more people off trying get tickets and come to games leading to more empty seats and the club losing revenue

Double rubbish.

The fans that want to go to the game, will be at the game. The fans that want to watch it in the pub, will be in the pub. A tenner isn’t going to change that either way.

I bet the majority of fans who chose not to go for whatever reason, have Accesscards and chose not to use them.
That’s doesn’t make them any less of a fan - I’ve no issue with fans watching in a pub, at home or on the internet/radio, but they don’t need an Accesscard do they? They don’t need reminding that tickets are on sale as they’re not interested, they’ve already arranged to meet their mates and watch it elsewhere.

I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on this. It’s all about opinions and healthy debate. I have no reason to defend the clubs policy on membership, I’m just putting across what appears to be their thought process.

I had the £25 city card last year but was just going to stick with the access card this year as every home game last season went on general sale to access card holders.
Not going to bother at all this year
It's going to be about 50 quid a seat then they want u to pay for membership to sit in crap seats too.
That's 5 of us not bothering to renew . I can see it being difficult for city to sell out this season who wants to pay to be a member with no real benefits an the way we were disregarded for the semi and final last season
Sorry city not this year

EVERY member of our branch has to have a Citycard or a Season ticket, although i am not sure what the colours will be this season, but i expect that £25 will be withdrawn from my account by the time we next meet.
