Yaya - a time to cash in?

Wouldnt sell him, but said a few days ago basically the same that there could be problems with him if he doesnt change his mentality/discipline on the pitch. He has to work a lot more for the team and in Pellegrini's team the central midfielders has to work very hard for the team defending the back four a lot.

Yaya did not do that many times, even left his team mates in big shit maybe Mancini was happy with it and wanted him in more advanced role or something like this but with Pellegrini it will change for sure.

Hope Yaya understands this and will change for the better.

no way he will leave city on 200k a week

Do you have anything else to offer except digs at how much City pay? FYI Yaya's new contract probably adopts the same lower basic as others.

It seems I opened a question some are afraid to discuss, I gave him credit and has been a monster for us, but to say I know nothing about football because I see a problem with his defensive side of his game is nonsense, fernandinho/yaya partnership wouldn't work as they have the same style of play, if you think he's been brought in to play defensive your wrong he's much more than that. Without a defensive midfielder winning the ball and mopping up attacks it will end up disastrous with all the attacking talent. There would be no balance in the side. Barry did this for yaya but don't expect fernandinho to play like Barry. The idea by my post was we need a Barry/busquets/gundogan more than we need a yaya. One his day he's unplayable but he's not the defensive player we need so where do you play him and who misses out?

Definitely going to put the cat amongst the pigeons with this one.

I think we are in a perfect position to sell him and aquire a specialised player like kondogbia or gundogan. I know most people will be like, he's our best player, he's a beast, he won us the fa cup and the title.

However let me paint another picture, he's a jack of all trades but a master of none whose value is only going to decrease parallel to his stamina. Yes when he runs at defences he's frightening, but that won't be his job next season, and as a defensive player I find him very lazy and petulant at times. There is no doubt he's been a hero for us but I think now is a time we think of whole team dynamics and I can't help think, he could be a possible weak link, especially with his stamina and tendencies to go missing even tho he was alledgly pro Mancini.

So cash in or keep?

Thanks, but no thanks.
