Yaya - a time to cash in?

to those who keep saying he looked like he wasn't bothered at times last season,

Mancini played him in every single game and never gave him a rest. No wonder he looked shot at times.

Can't cash in each time a player loses form. By this logic, Lampard would have been sold under AVB, Terry would be sold ages ago. Give Yaya a break, he will return a beast.

People who think we should let Yaya go should perhaps remember how much we missed him when he was away at the ACON. He is a vital asset who, like Vinny has now committed to the club on a long term contract. His presence under the right management will drive the club forward so I think we should be building a team around Yaya rather than consider letting him go.

yaya on his day fabulous unfortunately he only had two last season both just before his five year contract acon did nothing to yaya he was lazy before it and probably our worst player last season as every other player including garcia had to carry him that said as another poster said would i like him against my team nooooo .a definite keep just not a full 90 miutes he should be subbed when not playing well

Cashing in best MF in league. Can't compute.

Cashing in when we are the richest in league. Can't compute

Cashing in before he even played under new coach. Can't compute

So no.

not reading through 11 pages as quite simple for me, no better all round centre midfielder in the league, the man is absolutely immense. It doesn't mean he can't have a bad game, but for me I'd build the team around him as he has everything

No guarantee that the attacking side of Yayas play will be stifled next season just because Fernandinho's arrived ..... Pellegrini has indicated that he wants to build a team that is forward thinking , and will put the emphasis on attack ..... and we could well find a 'holding player' is dismissed completely , or else Rodwell might even be asked to fill the void .... Pellegini has options.

Yaya does tire at times , and it shows ...... but he's still very much a class act , and so are the goals he adds.

Definitely going to put the cat amongst the pigeons with this one.

I think we are in a perfect position to sell him and aquire a specialised player like kondogbia or gundogan. I know most people will be like, he's our best player, he's a beast, he won us the fa cup and the title.

However let me paint another picture, he's a jack of all trades but a master of none whose value is only going to decrease parallel to his stamina. Yes when he runs at defences he's frightening, but that won't be his job next season, and as a defensive player I find him very lazy and petulant at times. There is no doubt he's been a hero for us but I think now is a time we think of whole team dynamics and I can't help think, he could be a possible weak link, especially with his stamina and tendencies to go missing even tho he was alledgly pro Mancini.

So cash in or keep?

He signed a new contract last month.

Just a bit of paper , and is hardly likely to hold him back if he genuinely wanted to leave , or if another club wanted him ..... but as far as i'm aware neither is the case at present , and Yaya appears quite happy here .

It's probably gone in his favour that his brother has only gone as far as Liverpool too , and the pair should find it very easy to meet up/stay in contact.

Robinho signed a four year contract here back in 2008 , then left after two years !

And another thing ...... unless i'm mistaken isn't the ACON not happening next season??

If so , he shouldn't be quite as tired ... unless the Ivory Coast are involved in somethin' else!!
