If all of this turns out to be true, City have to make a statement and keep him until his contract runs out - playing him in the EDS or lower, regardless of how much it will cost in his wages. He has insulted this club hugely, just as Tevez did. And the club should take a seriously hard line, or it will keep happening.
Can't agree with that. Obviously they shouldn't be giving him a pay rise but if he wants to go then its best for the club that he does. Especially as there'll be a hefty sum of money involved.

Disagree, Liverpool managed to keep Suarez despite public statements that he wanted to go. Time to stand our ground and resolve the situation. He has 3 years left on a contract.

Depends whether you think Yaya is the kind of character to still play to the best of his ability if he's proper seen his arse. I'm not sure he is tbh.

Re: Yaya. The Ultimate Monster

Well, he said or put on twitter just to let his performances on the field speak for him, a bit later he said he stands by what the agent said. But I agree with the poster who said the sheikh's family are royalty and don't go round pumping hands etc at random. YaYa's not royalty and he's not the King (Colin), either.
Whatever you think about it, storm in a teacup or the agent's meddling , this is funny:
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/the-filter/10843936/Yaya-what-kind-of-grown-man-wants-a-fuss-on-his-birthday.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/the-filt ... thday.html</a>

The irony of the whole thing is that whilst saying he doesn't feel appreciated at City, he may have burnt the bridges at the club who adore him more than any other.

Let's face it he has played more games for City than any other club and been instrumental in the most successful period of our history. People rate Yaya that highly that he is seen as one of, if not the greatest players to play for us. However, it doesn't matter how good you are if you behave like a knob then your standing at the club will lessen. Just look at Tevez, he is without doubt the best striker we have ever had but he will never be held in the same esteem as Bell, Goater or Zabba because of his personality.

Yaya is 31 now and there are not many clubs he could move to now and establish himself as an all time great. If he genuinely wants to go back to Barca, which I think he does, then if he would have handled the situation with dignity then all of us fans would have wished him well.

But getting your agent to bad mouth the club and owner, who has done more for City than anyone else, is a step to far. In a contest between Sheikh Mansour and Yaya Toure there is only ever going to be one winner.

Good post that mate.

Two things though. 1. This may all be bollocks spun out of all proportion by an idiot of an agent. 2. Aguero is the best striker we've ever had.

That scenario would probably mean him moving on next year for a lot less. It's not ideal of course but I'd rather he went now for big money than next year for a fraction of his true value. Tell him if he wants to go now we'll accept 50m for him. If that offer doesn't come in, he simply has to stay. Can't say fairer than that.

Until I hear it from yaya himself, I will give him the benefit of the doubt - he deserves that much.
It was on his official twitter so unless he comes out and says he didn't write or sanction the tweets then I think, as it stands they are his words

Re: Yaya. The Ultimate Monster

If Yaya really feels like that then he can go. If it's the agent being a **** (and that's never happened has it?) then Yaya should publicly distance himself from the bullshit being spun.

Since when do footballers give a toss about a birthday? Doesn't smell right to me.

As if! Iniesta is 30 and was a right soft tart when we played Barca. Our team (whether intentionally or not) is built to suit Yaya's style of play, not Iniestas. Besides, Yaya is much more lethal than Iniesta and can defend (sometimes)

Iniesta to do the job of Yaya ? Well that's what you get from playing too much FM. SMH

Change your name mate, you don't love City if you're putting a player before the club.

I am not putting the player before the club ,No player is bigger than the club he plays for not even Messi at Barca BUT if you take a look at the whole Messi pay rise issue at Barca you would find out that the fans never ridiculed him . A lot of posts i have seen here today have been very rude towards Yaya . This issue is clearly being blown up by the media, and as far as I'm concerned ,this is a non issue and should be treated as such , maybe a little joke here and there but instead i see fans talking about using Yaya plus cash to get some other player , some have even gone as far as calling him a merc. Its ridiculous .
