Yaya Toure

Some people need to wind their necks in!

He was for me the only player who looked like doing something with the ball. He was so quick when running the defenders and generally had a good game i dont know what people are going on about.

I agree, for some reason, I ended up watched him more closely than the other players, and I thought he was very positive, tried running past people time after time, occupying the hell out of their midfield. He didn't do anything wrong at all that I saw. The only difference between tonight and sunday was that he on Sunday he had the half a yard over the opponent, tonight they just caught him.

If he hadn't made so many lung-busting kaka-esq runs against WBA, he might have had that tiny bit more power and pace, beat a couple of defenders and won the game.

I really don't understand where people are coming from on this.

Said from the start if you read my post from when we was first interested in the lad, i did not rate the lad at barca. Seen every game this season and i have been proved right. Not good enough!

I will say it again tonight YA YA , WAS SHIT. Nevn seen a City player so not-arsed in all my life. fcuking shocking from a man thats won the Chimps,Leg as a box to box midfielder!!!!!!!!!!!

Barry and Milner both put 100% effort in and in a derby I can't fault them for that when there was a player like Toure out there not putting in anywhere near enough effort

I really cant begin to understand how this guy was left on the pitch today. One of the most gutless, lazy performances ive ever seen from a City player in a Manchester Derby today.. strolling around like he was playing in La Liga, I must of counted over 10/15 times in the second half where he half heartedly laboured towards Carrick/Scholes when they were in possession. You compare him with how hard Barry, De Jong and the United three worked to stop the other team from getting any real time on the ball to play a telling pass, and it really does show just how fucking bad he was today, never mind continously running into blind alleys with the ball.

Absolutely fucking useless tonight, why oh why didnt Mancini just move Milner into the middle (our best player by the way), and take him off.

Credit to the defence and Barry/Nige, cant take anything away from how all of those played tonight.

Lazy?!?!?!

You're the useless one

I didnt think he was bad tonight, his languid style may make him look the worst of the lot but he was excatly the same as the others.

It's wrong for any player to have an automatic place in the team that they have not earned. Toure has an automatic place right now, and it's clearly nothing to do with form. he should be dropped until he earns his stripes in this team, let him come off the bench for the last 15 mins and show he warrants a starting berth.

I don't really care what he done before at any of his clubs, right now he is being asked to play as the most advanced central midfielder of a three, and he is a square peg in a round hole in that position. For me he has deep-lying midfielder written all over him, a kind-of deluxe-water-carrier, he should be competing with Nige and Barry for a spot. Milner or Silva can carry that central berth that appears to be his right now.

And another thing whilst I am ranting, looking at the table right now, a GD of +5 is nowhere near what is required, continue at this rate and we won't rise above 4th this season. It needs addressed, be it formation or the people in it.

Great retort. I come here for a football discussion, and we all have different opinions (a lot of which are in agreement with me on this). Joga on.
