Yaya Toure

I thought he was ok tonight, actually.

I think the most important point is that he's got a good first touch, which is vital in the modern game...it helps him to release the ball and keep the move flowing before the opposition can put too much pressure on the ball.

Unlike, for example, Milner.

Did nothing for me tonight.

More bad games than good in a City shirt currently, but I'll reserve judgement till the end of the season.

The main problem I have with him at the minute is that he doesnt use his sheer size/strength, he is a man mountain and should be really imposing himself - game just seemed to pass him by tonight.

He was turd tonight but whole heartedly agree with the rest of your post

I can't help but think we only bought him because we have his brother. He's always been suggested as a signing, even when Hughes was here despite the fact nobody saw him play very much other than the Champions' League.

His work rate is a disgrace, he looks tired in every single match. Forget his wages, I couldn't care less about that, he should be working much harder no matter how much money he's on.

He needs a massive wake up call and he needs to be dropped on Saturday for Johnson. Get Silva in behind Tevez and Johnson on the wing.

Not impressed by him at all and I brought it up to the lads around me earlier on in the season.

ONE LAZY TWAT, sorry guys I just don't get him, what is his role? Can't tackle, too heavy to jump and win headers, he suddenly finds energy when he receives the ball and can't be arsed when he hasn't. If I was De Jong or Barry tonight I would of kicked him up his arse.

Some people need to wind their necks in!

He was for me the only player who looked like doing something with the ball. He was so quick when running the defenders and generally had a good game i dont know what people are going on about.

Mate, this board can be embarrassing at times!!

Yaya is in that position cos it's a role he clearly wants a go at. Tonight, he was hacked at, pulled back and generally fouled as he took the game to their midfield.

When he did get into good positions, there were no there players up with him, in the right positions to release the ball to.

At Barca, he constantly had an outlet wherever he was on the pitch. Not so, at City yet, so this must be a bit of a shell shock situation for him. In the Prem, or at City(take your pick) if you surge forward, most players, on your team, will leave you to finish the job.

In Spain, or at Barca(take your pick) if you go, the forward line goes with you.

Attack as team as well as defend as a team.

We're not there yet.

Just got in and that performance was pathetic from him. To put that lack of effort in in a derby game is just not good enough. I mean Tevez didn't have a great game tonight but at least he put in top notch effort

I really cant begin to understand how this guy was left on the pitch today. One of the most gutless, lazy performances ive ever seen from a City player in a Manchester Derby today.. strolling around like he was playing in La Liga, I must of counted over 10/15 times in the second half where he half heartedly laboured towards Carrick/Scholes when they were in possession. You compare him with how hard Barry, De Jong and the United three worked to stop the other team from getting any real time on the ball to play a telling pass, and it really does show just how fucking bad he was today, never mind continously running into blind alleys with the ball.

Absolutely fucking useless tonight, why oh why didnt Mancini just move Milner into the middle (our best player by the way), and take him off.

Credit to the defence and Barry/Nige, cant take anything away from how all of those played tonight.

1st Half he wasn't too bad, same as the WBA game he was half decent.

2nd Half went missing too much, still it was better than the performance he gave at home to Newcastle that was shocking!

He had pretty good runs forward in my opinion, he just didn't find anyone upfront to support those runs of his. I agree with the poster who said he doesn't use his strength, I don't know maybe his mind is still stuck in the spanish la liga way of playing football but he really doesn't seem to be using his strength to push the opposition around a bit, and i hate it when he falls just doesn't look right with his size, he should be pushing around and not being pushed around.
