Yaya

Has anyone got any news on the knock he got last week? the only place i've seen it mentioned is Fantasy footie saying he has a 75% chance of playing on sunday.

I watch yaya week in week out. I talk to lot of people regarding yaya and I find myself coming to the same conclusions.

yaya is a top player but is not and never will be a great player or a world class player because of the following

1. how can a great/ world class player divide opinion so much? does messi, Ronaldo, xavi, aguero, saurez, keane, veira, maradona, etc etc etc have anyone questioning them.....no
2. people have said earlier on this thread hes a big game player, yes he is, but surely that's not the point. great players don't just turn up to big games they perform every single week.
3. part of a midfielders job is to tackle, yaya doesn't do this
4. yaya is unstoppable when he starts a forward run but he does this 1 maybe 2 time per games, then it takes an age for him to get back into position

conclusion

we are a better team with yaya than without. he will ensure we beat Liverpool on sunday but can anyone say he will be up for palace away??

also I find that people don't like it when someone questions yaya, they get a bit upset or abusive. but before I get loads of grief put forward a proper argument first.

oh and our best and most influential player is VINCENT KOMPANY. to steel a phase CAPTIAN, LEADER, LEGEND!!!

I agree with some of what you've said BUT it's interesting that you list Xavi as world class yet he can't/doesn't tackle either.

You've also listed Suarez as world class, based on what? How many trophies has he won to get that label?

I'm pretty sure fans of clubs all round Europe question all their players, Ronaldo and Messi are the only two world class players in football at the moment

The rest that are worth mentioning are in the level below that, and that all comes down to consistency. Yaya is in that bracket below Ronaldo and Messi alongside some other frighteningly good players. Every team in Europe would have Yaya in their team no doubt about that.

Like most on here, when Yaya is good he is World Class, however when he is bad he's Bottom of the Class.

For me in recent weeks I have been concerned about his sulky child like strops that will ultimately cost us a needless sending off.

It's almost as if the club physio that has clearly reprogrammed Negredo's brain with the footballing programming known as Lee Bradbury has done the same to Yaya with Mario Balotelli.

In short, as well as suddenly becoming the ultimate penalty taker a side affect is clearly an increase in idleness and misbehaviour.

I'm truly shocked at some of the opinions people have of Yaya. I mean you have to respect the opinions and views of our supporters but if you really keep a close eye on Yaya through a whole game you see how much he is our engine room.

I think it's because fans expect him to get forward so much and expect him to do that all the time. Yes it's apart of his role, but his job is to control the midfield and anything else is a bonus. His pass accuracy rate and general dominance of the midfield is world class.

He would walk in to any other team on the planet.
