Stayed in Clovelly last night, hence the thread!Devon obviously.......not that I'm biased
Climbed it twice. The second time seemed a little easier than the first, following a few pints and a bottle of Malbec. The climb up to the car park at 6am was a bit of a struggle, mind!Delightful place, but a bastard to get back up that hill when you're on the stout side.......
I would say when it comes to an aesthetic differential between the county town and the shire itself, the contrast in Leicester/shire is the starkest in the country, I reckon. There's some serious dough in the villages around Leicester, some of which are truly stunning, but the city itself is more than a bit of a dump.Leicestershire has some nice little places too.
