Casual staff at City - club confirm they will be paid

I’m sure City are overwhelmed right now with all that’s going on and the uncertainty out there. Travel plans to cancel, flights to cancel, hotels etc. I’m sure they are looking at the welfare of staff and anyone employed by the club will be looked after but I’m not sure the network of match day contractors are all necessarily City’s responsibility- but of course the media will lump responsibility for the whole of East Manchester onto the club because we are perceived as affluent. It disappoints me sometimes how quickly some of our fans are to get on the clubs back before we’ve even commented. I generally have faith in our owners - I think they do a good job - most of the time and they seem like decent people... so I would be reluctant to criticise until I know more - and by knowing more - I mean from a reliable source.
Spot on nmc.
People on here are criticising the club and it does no good when you have journos (YES YOU SHOWER OF BASTARDS IF YOU`RE READING THIS) coming onto this very forum and looking at negatives which at times we "feed".
Don`t get me wrong if City do wrong then I`ll criticise them ... but only when I know more details and as you say from more reliable sources than these two bit shit so called journalists.

All well and good, but every club is going through the same situation but still has time to sort out the stuff that really matters, PEOPLE. Someone has dropped the ball here, it's a HR issue and should have been handled better.

Listen mate, would be nice in these times to have less of you saying bollocks this and bollocks that.
Nobody is siding with the media or the Rags but as another poster pointed out, they have done the right thing with their announcement re staff as well as their season ticket freeze. Maybe the details of how to pay etc will be difficult but at least they’ve made the right nosises.,.,......and City haven’t

You really should aptly change your name to "Stiff Little Whinger".
You obviously don`t understand how City operate. They do NOT go shouting from the rooftops for publicity that some clubs openly crave for.It has never been that way since Sheikh Mansour took over and if you ask people who live over in Abu Dhabi, they all say the same thing. It is not the way in which our Owner likes.
However and once again,I have no fear at all that City will DO the right thing.
Why do you feel it necessary to "feed the media trolls" who next headlines will be "City fans split over pay for Staff etc".
It really doesn`t help.

Don’t be fooled so easily, the rags have a world class PR dept and a arse licking media that will always leaves us catching up.
Times will change hopefully.

I don't, but people, whether directly or indirectly employed by City aren't being paid and we're fucking loaded. We have a team of people who deal with employment and Pay, as every medium to large business does, this should be sorted.

I don’t think it’s about the media though or how the club operates. The issue is how City is acting as an employer and also how the club interacts with the fans. That’s what I’m interested in.

Whilst neither criticising nor praising, because our PR people are always being slammed on here ( and I am guilty of that ), they have to be operating in accordance with the way our management want them too. Therefore no matter how we as supporters feel about the management of our staff, PR etc the club will probably be quietly sorting things out for the wellbeing of their employees.

The rags PR has always been excellent in promoting the club even if the team/players/management are shite. We don't operate like them or the dippers .

Hopefully , because I don't know, in the background our HR team is working to ensure that our employees / casual staff etc are looked after in the chaos which the virus has created.

I don't think we should be slagging them off because the rags PR have been in full swing ( as usual ).

Many companies are loaded it doesn't stop them from not paying their staff properly. Even if City set a good example and agree to continue paying their wages, it doesn't do anything to help the many more millions in the country affected.

Temp, zero hour, part-time are screwed over in every sense. They often talk about gender pay gaps on the TV but what about the low paid workers vs long term permanents? Some of these companies now have like 4 different contracts which screw the newer workforce in the past 10 years over in everyway. Lots of benefits in the old contracts to practically nothing in the newer ones. May as well be a glorified agency contract.

Sorry then I think you`re a little naive if you don`t think its the media.I can`t be any clearer ref how City operate.

I think I am correct in saying all full time MCFC employes are on the living wage at least, not heard the press shouting about that.

Seriously though that's a joke in the grand scheme of things that's pennies to our owners and even players, given the situation pay them ffs
