Deal agreed with Bayern Munich for Leroy Sane - €60m (including add-ons)

Gutted but not a shock. If a player doesnt want to play for us and risks causing upset then they go. Simple.

No one is irreplaceable but you know we are going to get shafted on the sales price and finding a replacement nearly as good will cost double what we sell him for.

We arent coming out on top with this one by a long shot. Shouldve sold him last year in hindsight... :(
 
It's disappointing to lose a great young player. However,

Can we blame the club ? No, the club wanted to keep him and started negotiations 2 years earlier.
Can we blame Sane ? No, it probably must be a dream for him to play for Bayern with his mates.
Can we blame Pep ? No, he already knew Sane was having his head turned, so he decided to play him less when there was no margin of error in the title race.

So, why is it difficult to respect his decision, wish him well and move on ?

I don’t see that many slapped arses. mainly it’s, he has done well contributed to our club winning trophies, took the piss regarding his contract! From 2+ years ago. He has had no intention of signing a new deal the reasoning Bayern tapping up. I wish him as a person well but hope he flops at Bayern but that is the mentality of the majority of fans when a top player goes.

I have been saying since the start of last season that whatever the problem between him and pep it needed sorting as he is a special player,we have nobody that can do what he can do,the speed the goals/assists

kev used to lose the ball a lot,that comes with the type of player he is,sane was not allowed to do that,he had to do better at tracking back but that is not to say he never did it

The club have done everything,i don't believe that pep handled him right though,he was the young player of the year then he wasn't played,there is tough love then there is cutting off your nose to spite yourself

It isn't popular to say pep makes mistakes but this was a problem between them so I am not comfortable with the aggression towards the kidf

I maintain this will be a huge mistake,watch him soar at Bayern and I will hate it

Playing him was fine,he is our player,shame he got injured,u believe there was still hope he would sign then

Move on, top player wont leave a big hole in the squad we have enough + Havertz or Sancho will do wonders.

Leroy wasnt 1st choice for obvous reasons, Sterling & Mahrez No 1 choice.

We already have Bernardo, Braff to look to.

City will move forward.

Imo it was always coming, said it 2 years ago sulky fucker & fucked a out with agents.

Would I play him now??? Would I bollocks, move him on & move forward.

City should tell Bayern do a swap deal with Alaba in the transfer window or wait till next summer
 
He is probably still gonna be in the Burnley game. Can‘t see him dropped otherwise Pep probably said it to drop him now. Can‘t do wrong if we don‘t play Bayern we might need him as a backup in the CL if we beat Madrid and reach the next stage.

the respect city shown to sane is defo not a 2 way thing ? and this thing about not being happy in manchester or the uk is crazy and its mugging us fan and club ? he been offered more money FACT and so called better chances at international level because of playing in the german league is bollocks

pep knows his onions and just go and look at some old games and watch pep going mad on the touchline because sane is not working for the team. it was almost every game ? pep once just give up and sat down next to arteta and the look on pep face said it all

superstar ? maybe. lazy ? maybe. daft ? maybe. anybody wanting to leave manchester city need their bumbs feeling ? trophies and rewards playing in the best league in the world ? maybe just want a easy life beating 2nd rate clubs without any fight each season. as for champions league munich are not looking like winners much and a ageing squad ?? and i would still fancy any premier league team vs munich even with sane in it
 
It’s hard not to be disappointed by his seemingly imminent departure. He’s good enough to be one of the best players in the world.

just watch the last interview pep says he only wants players that are 100% and wants to play for this club ? even in the arsenal game you could see sane laughing at the subs being used and not him ? he got the message that night (the end)

We’re not used to losing players we want to keep nowerdays - unlike the bad old days when we were scared for one of our better players having two good games on a run in case he got snapped up. He’s brilliant and I’m gutted to lose him. But e should just use him to our advantage now. Play him when needed and to give others a rest and then use him as bait to swap with someone very decent. I’d go full throttle for Alaba and if they don’t play ball then keep sane for next season so long as he doesn’t go on a huge sulk. He looked happy enough the other night

Not sure what replacing him has to do with winning our appeal. But I do suspect we won’t replace him with a like for like player and we will bring in a forward with replacing Aguero next summer in mind.
