I have been saying since the start of last season that whatever the problem between him and pep it needed sorting as he is a special player,we have nobody that can do what he can do,the speed the goals/assists
kev used to lose the ball a lot, that comes with the type of player he is,sane was not allowed to do that,he had to do better at tracking back but that is not to say he never did it
The club have done everything,i don't believe that pep handled him right though,he was the young player of the year then he wasn't played, there is tough love then there is cutting off your nose to spite yourself
It isn't popular to say pep makes mistakes but this was a problem between them so I am not comfortable with the aggression towards the kidf
I maintain this will be a huge mistake, watch him soar at Bayern and I will hate it
Playing him was fine,he is our player, shame he got injured,u believe there was still hope he would sign then
Sorry Karen but not sure how you can be so sure that " whatever the problem between him and Pep needed sorting " , or that it was indeed " sortable " .
If Sane's head was completely turned and his mind was made up to move to Bayern, how is Pep or the club supposed to " sort the problem " ?
And if Pep felt that Sane wasn't giving his best during training, when playing etc - is he supposed to just let that go and keep playing him irrespective of effort/application ? Pep is not the type of manager who will " indulge " players who are not meeting his standards, and why should he ?
Ignoring the contract for as long as he has suggests Sane's intention was to leave, and nothing was really going to change.
I personally am pleased that the club have released this statement, as both the club and the player need to move on.
Pep is not infallible , but there can only be one outcome in this matter , irrespective of how talented the player .
