I have been saying since the start of last season that whatever the problem between him and pep it needed sorting as he is a special player,we have nobody that can do what he can do,the speed the goals/assists

kev used to lose the ball a lot, that comes with the type of player he is,sane was not allowed to do that,he had to do better at tracking back but that is not to say he never did it

The club have done everything,i don't believe that pep handled him right though,he was the young player of the year then he wasn't played, there is tough love then there is cutting off your nose to spite yourself

It isn't popular to say pep makes mistakes but this was a problem between them so I am not comfortable with the aggression towards the kidf

I maintain this will be a huge mistake, watch him soar at Bayern and I will hate it

Playing him was fine,he is our player, shame he got injured,u believe there was still hope he would sign then

Sorry Karen but not sure how you can be so sure that " whatever the problem between him and Pep needed sorting " , or that it was indeed " sortable " .

If Sane's head was completely turned and his mind was made up to move to Bayern, how is Pep or the club supposed to " sort the problem " ?

And if Pep felt that Sane wasn't giving his best during training, when playing etc - is he supposed to just let that go and keep playing him irrespective of effort/application ? Pep is not the type of manager who will " indulge " players who are not meeting his standards, and why should he ?

Ignoring the contract for as long as he has suggests Sane's intention was to leave, and nothing was really going to change.

I personally am pleased that the club have released this statement, as both the club and the player need to move on.

Pep is not infallible , but there can only be one outcome in this matter , irrespective of how talented the player .

the respect city shown to sane is defo not a 2 way thing ? and this thing about not being happy in manchester or the uk is crazy and its mugging us fan and club ? he been offered more money FACT and so called better chances at international level because of playing in the german league is bollocks

pep knows his onions and just go and look at some old games and watch pep going mad on the touchline because sane is not working for the team. it was almost every game ? pep once just give up and sat down next to arteta and the look on pep face said it all

superstar ? maybe. lazy ? maybe. daft ? maybe. anybody wanting to leave manchester city need their bumbs feeling ? trophies and rewards playing in the best league in the world ? maybe just want a easy life beating 2nd rate clubs without any fight each season. as for champions league munich are not looking like winners much and a ageing squad ?? and i would still fancy any premier league team vs munich even with sane in it

It's hard to think this transfer is all about money. If that was the case, then Real/PSG/Barca would all be interested.

I've seen games where it felt every forward pass from DeBruyne was misplaced and Sterling this season after a bright start rolled back to his performances of 4 years ago. I haven't noticed Pep getting agitated on either of them. In the Amazon documentary, we see Pep after the win against United saying along the lines of "..you know how critical I'm of Sane..." . Perhaps Pep thought acting tough would help Sane.

Bayern are at the moment a contender for the Champions League, and Sane if he can continue his form will make them stronger.

If your opinion is that Sane has more potential than Sterling, I agree, he has more in his locker as they say. But he has not done it consistently in the way Sterling now has. Sterling accepted the Pep challenge and improved. Leroy didn't fancy it and has stagnated, partly due to injury obviously, but also due to attitude. Sterling all day for me.

Regarding consistency, I think their goals/ assists per 90 minutes is close.

Sane won Young player award before Sterling who is much more experienced than him.

Sane was consistent when City got 100 points.

And was important in deciding big games in the 2nd season even though he was not in the starting Eleven ( against Liverpool, United, Schalke when we were losing playing with 10 players )

I'd tell Bayern and every other interested club they have a cut off date to forward an acceptable offer otherwise he stays until his contract ends. It's a gamble but do the player and club want to wait another year?

We then have a decent player for another year if he stays and if he sulks play him in every reserve game and burn him out, not our problem as he'd be leaving on a free anyway.

If Bayern call our bluff? We lose a potential £40-50m fee on top of Sane's wages for the year, it's illogical.

You could say that for every transfer that happens before the end of contract, including those players who City buy from other clubs.
No you couldn't.
Would you say it of the one's that put something back and left recent seasons or could you say it of Silva? He's clearly got his fanboys who are happy with the return but he could have given one more season at his age.

I think half the reason his head has been turned was because he wasn't being played, this has been going on since the start of 18/19 season, bayern didn't come in till May or so last year

Admittedly my head is mashed on exact timings but I think that is right

Of course it is a problem between them, football is not special,it is people working together and relationships, pep is demanding but he also needs to give an inch

The club offered the contracts so it was not them

I ain't gonna slag him as he has been part of some good years and done his bit.

But I would be fucked off to see him go to bayern easily.

It's their call. If they pay 40-50 million we'd sell but not for a derisory offer. Can both afford to wait another year?

They can choose to spend their money elsewhere, we can't spend what we haven't got. We'd be cutting our nose off to spite our face, it's heart overtaking head and not good business.

Disappointed he wants to leave. Maybe just not settled in England, misses his German mayes, whatever.

We need someone fucking amazing to replace him. Sancho would be ideal.

He's a professional football player, not a fan.
We've had a lot of them and they've managed to put something back and embrace the club and its generosity.
I know there's a few disappointed people at the club, but they should just suck it up.
I know you're trying to be bigger than the rest of us , but sometimes, someone just lets you down.

He has to be replaced simply by the fact sterling on the left doesn’t work

Really? I think he has improved massively in the left to the point I think it's his best position. He's never been a traditional crosser anyway so being able to cut in onto his right works for me.

Gutted about Leroy I still thought he might stay. If Bayern only offer us 40 million id sell him for 20 to someone else.

Can't make him sign to " someone else " if he doesn't want to .
