Here's an interesting stat that should help inform the discussion.
The percentage of infected people that have died is decreasing daily and is at its lowest level ever. This is back to my earlier posts about increased testing and the percentage of people tested that show positive.
I would also like to seriously challenge all the deaths that are being attributed to Coronavirus being the cause. It would be really helpful if we saw corresponding figures from 12 and 24 months ago.... just to inform the debate further.
From the numbers I can find we get the following:
Total deaths UK 2019 - 530,841
Total deaths (all causes of course) 2020 to August 08th - 330,590
Therefore if we extrapolate out to a full 365 day year, given 08th August is the 221st day we get an expected mortality of 545,997 which is not incredibly out of line with previous years.
2018- 541,589
2017- 533,253
2016- 597,210
