Here's an interesting stat that should help inform the discussion.

The percentage of infected people that have died is decreasing daily and is at its lowest level ever. This is back to my earlier posts about increased testing and the percentage of people tested that show positive.

I would also like to seriously challenge all the deaths that are being attributed to Coronavirus being the cause. It would be really helpful if we saw corresponding figures from 12 and 24 months ago.... just to inform the debate further.
Good post.

From the numbers I can find we get the following:
Total deaths UK 2019 - 530,841
Total deaths (all causes of course) 2020 to August 08th - 330,590
Therefore if we extrapolate out to a full 365 day year, given 08th August is the 221st day we get an expected mortality of 545,997 which is not incredibly out of line with previous years.

2018- 541,589
2017- 533,253
2016- 597,210

Jeez this is mentally a hard slog.
Its sucking the fun and meaning of life.
There is just no fucking end to this daily barrage of deaths, infections and fucking awful news.
There is nothing to look forward to anymore.

Oldest trick in the world - show a few dickheads partying in Liverpool and then use it as a propaganda weapon to turn people against one another and deflect peoples anger from the Government.
Evidence? - see some of the above posts.
Divide and rule it's called.
Or social media, wtf has the government got to do with every person in Liverpool last night that was partying, holding a phone aloft grinning like fucking nutters and filming it all, then posting on every format imaginable, the whole country should look and hold them as utter selfish cunts.

Change channel, watch a box set or something or go to the pub unless you live in dipperville

of course I can cope with reality, but I do like to drill down on data sources and make sound cases for or against arguments that are being presented.

Looking at the graph as at September we are about average wouldn't you say?

It is interesting to note that deaths not involving Covid were quite high in March and April.

Thanks for the link, it will be interesting to see more recent figures dont you think?

it’s not all young one, and it’s not a common situation. Nearly everyone in the UK has had freedom all their lives, to expect every single person so suddenly accept being told where to go, what to do and when to do it is frankly deluded
Not if there dont wanna die from it

But why should our country be shagged cause people with health issues and cant stay in are the ones dying from it

Deaths per week over the last 3 years.

"why doesn't a country full of dickheads, lead by dickheads, stop acting like dickheads?" is basically what you've asked.

The answer? Cos that's what dickheads do. Act like dickheads. We had one shot at compliance, and we got an awful lot of it early on - we genuinely did! Everywhere was absolutely dead. But of course we wasted that time. The government fucked up the app, fucked up track and tracing, fucked up public trust with the cummings stuff and constant lies, fucked up timings of messages (go to work! go to uni! buy out to help out! but its all your fault now its rising!) and so on and so on. It isn't going to get any better. Large parts of the country have lost all faith, our government hasn't got a clue of how to win it back as they don't know how to connect with people on a human level.

There is *zero* chance we're ever getting control of this. We're not New Zealand. We're not Sweden. We're not Germany. Countries where society is a lot more reasonable, a lot more trusting and a lot more decent. We're a little arrogant shit hole of a country with truly awful, incompetent leaders who have no idea how to actually lead or gather public trust. There are plenty of great people here, but we're outnumbered. I've accepted that all I can personally do now is just hope for the best, be safe and hope that my loved ones are still all alive after the winter. It's a shite way to live, but I don't see any alternative.
Totally agree. But I'd put more emphasis the British public's role in the "we're a little arrogant shit hole of a country" part. With freedom - which we take for granted - comes responsibility. The myriads of wankers seem to have forgotten that part.

And it's not only the young, selfish and irresponsible twats, countless in number though they are. It's the old, selfish and irresponsible twats. And the thick as pig shit twats.

Only this morning I heard some old twat (category 2 and 3 above) saying he'd had a good life and if he wants to go around not social distancing, and he catches it at his age (70-odd) and dies, well c'est la vie. The monumental prat not realising that in doing so, he might infect 20 other people and kill one or two of them with his moronic behaviour.

You wear a face mask to protect OTHER PEOPLE you bell end.

Whereas "I would also like to seriously challenge all the deaths that are being attributed to Coronavirus being the cause" implies something rather different, don't you think?

Scousers catching some stray bullets due to the video doing the rounds on socials, but let’s face it, it could of been any city in England under the same circumstances.

Our mentality over here is fucking crackers and our relationship with alcohol is very poor, highlighted more so this year.

Well it could be read that way I guess, but I know personally of people who have died with very serious underlying conditions and were close to deat anyway, but because they had contracted Coronavirus the deaths were attributed to it, hence why I think the year on year comparisons and getting a feel for excess deaths is a useful or helpful view for comparisons.

GM scoreboard totals 1415 down from 1521 yesterday and lowest in 5 days. But this represents a rise in terms of the NW given the bigger fall in numbers there.

In fact GM was 33.7% of the NW total yesterday and is 37,9% of it today.

Still below 40% is where we were two or three weeks ago but have not been in a while until yesterday.
