Nothing at allWhat will change after a month?
Nothing at allWhat will change after a month?
Exactly. So whats the point?Nothing at all
Imo a national circuit breaker , cut cornwall off and gov can bring back mortage holidays and ask utility firms for payment deferrals ,bring back furlough , doing it by region puts everyone in those areas in trouble money wise , by doing it this way it is creating more problems, no way is easy of course
We've had 8 positive cases at work (in Oldham) in the last 2 weeks. About 10 percent of staff. Union suggested a 2 week shutdown for a circuit break, but it was refused. It’s not about the money we’ve missed out on from govt, for me. It’s that the govt can’t prove that the hospitality industry are the cause of the rise in cases and hospital admissions and that closing that industry is fucking pointless and will just lead to job losses/business closures.
The gym I attend and the coffee shop I go to (the only places I go to as a person living on their own who isn’t in a bubble) have had ZERO cases! Why are they fucking shutting?
It’s backwards. Close down the places where the cases are worst: eg. schools - have just Year 6, Year 11 and Year 13 every day and alternate other year groups on other days. Heavily fine those who are visiting different homes in restricted areas, emplore neighbours to grass people up for having gatherings at their houses, have Police patrolling the streets... because it’s house-to-house transmission where the problems lie, not my fucking gym!
Folks; it's been mentioned plenty of times in the past. If you want to score cheap political points, there's a Covid thread in the politics sub forum.
People saying it’s unfair on areas with low numbers of cases if there was a national lockdown. I get that but let’s be fair here - a lot of the high case numbers in the North are in towns and cities with a big university population and a lot of those students have come from other areas of the country (many of them are areas with lower case numbers) and skewed our figures to fuck! Why should those of us who live in areas where we're not being arseholes be made to suffer?
You got a source for that? I'd like to share itJoint statement from 5 different pub chains at the weekend stated that of 8 million visits to their 860 pubs (presumably since pubs reopened in early July) across Greater Manchester, the North West, and North Wales there hasn’t been a single case of Covid traced back to any of their pubs!
Because we are a country? Why should those of us who live in areas where we're not being arseholes be made to suffer?
I've found the opposite to be honest mate. The look on the older people's faces when you get closer you can see the fear. Could be my ring tone is the Halloween theme. But seriously both the young and old flout the measures and it doesn't seem to be getting through even after 6 monthsSaid it before, in my opinion, the section of our society who really need to protect themselves and shield better arent. Wnd its the rest who are paying for it.
i see it on jobs everyday, its the 65+ bracket (Genrally) who dont give me space in their house, who try and shake my hand, who offer me cups of tea, who tell me i dont need to wear a mask, who tell me “its all a load of nonsense”
where as younger clients just say “i’ll get out the way”.
You're asking for evidence. From this government. During the pandemic. Have you been living in a cave?Nothing in the Johnson briefing so far that has evidenced why hospitality should be a sector that takes a huge hit. Hopefully a question will be raised. If you can't provide the evidence, at least compensate adequately when someone presents you with that evidence. And the Government accuses the City Region of playing politics.
Really hope that Tier 3 does now make a positive difference in terms of reducing infections but just can't see it happening.
Here you go mate:You got a source for that? I'd like to share it
And thats the crux of the matter, its all down to money, the longer they can get away with region by the region the better far as there concerned, let's see what happens when the tory heartlands of the South are faced with tier 2/3, then we,ll see a call for national lockdown and the support it brings wìth itImo a national circuit breaker , cut cornwall off and gov can bring back mortage holidays and ask utility firms for payment deferrals ,bring back furlough , doing it by region puts everyone in those areas in trouble money wise , by doing it this way it is creating more problems, no way is easy of course
Because we're all interconnected and we live on a small islland. Why should those of us who live in areas where we're not being arseholes be made to suffer?
The young arent great, far from it. But ive honestly found the older ones just dont get it.I've found the opposite to be honest mate. But seriously both the young and old flout the measures and it doesn't seem to be getting through even after 6 months
Why should those of us who live in areas where we're not being arseholes be made to suffer?
As i say , no easy way to do itWhy should those of us who live in areas where we're not being arseholes be made to suffer?
Oldies are scared of being robbedThe young arent great, far from it. But ive honestly found the older ones just dont get it.
i was cleaning a upholstered chair last week and the customer , who i know is 71 and not in great health, sat in the chair next to it doing a fuckin crossword! Told her she’d be better in the other room, but nope, she was fine their, apparently
Because you’ve no fucking answer.... maybe they could stop refurbishments on the House of Parliament and use that money....this pals nonsense is not even worthy of a response.
