Keir Starmer

He didn't say "absolutely fuck all" though, did he?
Seems to be a desperation from some on the right to tar him with the same brush as Corbyn, despite him taking clear steps to address the problem now that he is in a position to do so.

Those are from 2019 you would need to go back earlier as the story itself began around 2015 I believe. I could easily find quotes before the Starmer ones from Corbyn himself that would give the impression he wanted the issue dealt with.

He did what most politicians do and reacted to how the wind was blowing. If a statement can be found In the period when Labour where denying any problem then that would change things.

Corbyn can quite rightly point to some action taken to address the issues going back 4 years plus. But he undermines all that in an instance by saying that the issue was overstated. You cannot have a small issue on this. You either have a antisemitism problem or you don't. His words and actions seem hollow and full of excuses. His statement yesterday illustrated perfectly why this issue was never going to be dealt with properly.

Exactly. Talk is cheap.

Sir Keith knew what he was signing up for when he accepted a position in that shadow cabinet. He might not have been the one holding the gun to the teller's face but he was definitely in the getaway car and unlike others, stayed in it up to and after the point where they tried to rob the bank.

His only route out now is to grass up the main assailants but it doesn't change the fact that he was very much a joint part of the enterprise.

Much as I am enjoying all the ‘Sir Keith’ takes, how will chucking out Corbyn and ‘picking a fight with the left’, play with the voters at large is the key question.

Also I say ‘picking a fight’ but given Starmer apparently told Corbyn in advance what he was going to say and Corbyn tin-eared the whole thing with weasel words, then it wasn’t so much ‘picking a fight’ but accepting Corbyn‘s gracious invitation to boot him in the bollocks.

KS sat on the front bench during the Corbyn leadership and said absolutely fuck all... shocking in itself but when you realise that he’s married to a Jew who has brought their kids up in the Jewish faith it’s worse... surely his wife was asking him regularly “what are you going to do about this?”... what was his answer I wonder
It sounds like you're assuming all Jewish people have the same view on this but they don't.

Between Starmer and Bojo, has there ever been a worse set of parents running the main parties in this country? We might as well have the Philpotts in charge.

May and Corbyn, Johnson and Corbyn, Cameron and anyone, given Cameron was an absolute disaster.

Starmer by comparison seems ‘competent’. I’d take competent.

I’m not sure Starmer could have done much different to be honest. Politics is ultimately about narratives that the electorate get behind - nuance never plays well. With this in particular, Corbyn might be right in some of what he says but ultimately it doesn’t matter - it’s been such a focal point for the past few years that any kind of trying to defend it or underplay it was never going to work as an approach - it’s too deep rooted an issue for the electorate, and not just in the Jewish community.

Labour have to get to a point where the narrative is back to purely being about policies. I do have some sympathy in that that will always be harder for them to do, but Corbyn was always going to be a hindrance to that even more.

Now Corbyn has finally been fucked off,Labour may start to recover, and those who abandoned the party because of the deluded fruitcake's 'leadership'.....will most likely return.

To fully restore faith, they still need to get shut of Corbyn's incompetent/abysmal Lieutenants.
I agree, Starmer and the rest of JC's inner circle should go.

Like this fella

Absolutely fucking brilliant!! I'm where he is having been accused of antisemitism, myself. He supports Corbyn as much as I do.

He totally gets what it's all about that many 'do-gooders' don't.

People have been duped into manufactured choices by the neolibs and are told 'well, these are the people left to vote for' aided and abetted by the MSM owed by the 1%/ 'establishment'. I've said it the US politics thread as well as the UK threads.

I really REALLY wish people would wake up.

Because you are the only one with true insight aren't you. Blame the media instead of acknowledging the issues. Your language divides the left.

I wouldn't even want him leading the Tories
I'm not influenced by tags,i prefer to judge the man and his policies and whichever closest represent my own thinking.

The only Politician who currently gets my attention is Johnny Mercer, whether he'd make a good PM is another matter.
