What's happened to the Starmer thread? I purposefully stay out of the Brexit thread for a couple of reasons, so why is it being reproduced in here?
Apologies, my fault. What's happened to the Starmer thread? I purposefully stay out of the Brexit thread for a couple of reasons, so why is it being reproduced in here?
Given the shit show the economy will be in 2024, the next 10-20 years of unbroken Tory rule might need revising as well......Apologies, my fault.
The irony is, if we’d had Starmer as the Labour candidate in the last GE he’d have probably done very well.
Millions of people have felt politically homeless for the last 10 years and I think Starmer could well fill that void and do very well.
The thing is, all the other G7 countries economies are going to tank as well, so fuck knows what’s going to happen.Given the shit show the economy will be in 2024, the next 10-20 years of unbroken Tory rule might need revising as well......
Mate, both campaigns were atrocious in terms of lies, trying to mobilise fear as a tool to gain votes ,and bullshit. Remain effectively got into the gutter with farage and fought on his terms and lost. That ship has sailed - sorry.Unfortunately, the Remain campaign went for facts and truth.
It didn't cut through, and the bombast, hyperbole, bullshit and bigotry of the Leave campaign gained far more traction on social media (as it so often does, unfortunately).
I agree the Remain side ran a poor campaign, but they were constantly putting out fires of bullshit the Leave campaign were saying.
It's actually a flaw of the current democratic process that political campaigns can spread disinformation at such an exponential rate on social media and face no legal repercussions.
Hopefully the law catches up and some of these bastards can be held to account.

Sorry for your loss. I'm sure you'd have been happy to accept it if you had got what you wanted.I disagree.
We shouldn’t write off legitimate democracy just yet.
I still have faith it can be saved.
Not if the campaign had been found guilty of election fraud and using the services of Aggregate IQ and Cambridge Analytica who are facing criminal conspiracy charges.Sorry for your loss. I'm sure you'd have been happy to accept it if you had got what you wanted.

The legitimacy of the democratic process is actually more important than “winning” to some people. I’m one of them.
