Grealish has grown on me. Yes, he's had his problems and he's made some mistakes in his private life, but probably every club has players that have done similar. We have Walker and Foden to start with.
I think since getting the captaincy at Villa, Grealish has matured quite a bit though. He's a leader on and off the pitch. He's loyal to his club. He's not outspoken in the media. He doesn't display thuggish behaviour. He doesn't cheat or deceive. He always shows for the ball. He stands out against quality players - look at the Liverpool game as an example.
He is an excellent technical footballer and would thrive in an environment like ours, where teammates are striving to improve technically. He would join us on the basis and with the attitude that this is a step up, and he was no longer the main man, but one of a team, which if it performs well, will always be in contention for trophies.
My view is that he would be a brilliant addition to our squad. He's good for six years or more, and I can't remember the last time Villa sold us a dud.
