Political relations between UK-EU

I’m not deflecting anything mate, just don’t see why a disgruntled tweet from someone with an axe to grind should have any credence, unless you know no better.
Think I’d have an axe to grind if I saw so many obstacles hampering my business whether I’d voted leave or remain. Do you think the Scottish fishermen have an axe to grind or a reasonable complaint?

Out of interest, has anyone else conducted an ad hoc survey amongst contacts to win an argument concerning the minutiae of a discussion on a football forum on a Sunday morn?
I haven’t
But I have just text my WhatsApp group to see how many people have or have not

Perhaps you should rather than directly address what squirts was deflecting from namely another small UK business facing difficulties due to Brexit
It was only a middle class entrepreneur catering to the tastes of the metropolitan elites so nobody cares. Only real people who regularly thank the government for the opportunity to earn minimum wage and tug their forelocks to the likes of JRM need to be considered.

Scottish elites in Downing Street protest...on side of one lorry, ‘Brexit carnage’

‘More than 10 shellfish lorries have parked up near Downing Street and Westminster to protest the post-Brexit changes that mean they are struggling to export. Drivers say they want people to realise what is going on @Reuters

The denial is strong with the Propaganda Minister this morning.

Mind you, we can’t keep denying the existence of trade borders and their effects for ever. Barely two weeks in and we‘re all over the place. Give it another month and Brexit diehards will be celebrating the closures of British businesses on the grounds they were ‘elitist’.
Not seen ''Pret man' on here lately.

Doesn't seem that long ago the (usual) Remainers on here were slagging off the UK and Brexit for losing out on not being part of the EU wide procurement.

The EU wide procurement - followed by the rules that we will 'all start the vaccine programme together' (unless you are Germany).

Hmmmm - they seem to have gone quiet on that subject - perhaps I should dig out a few posts to check if they still hold the view that the UK's interests would have been better being part of the EU procurement and rollout
Go on then, add somethig to the thread instead of banging on and on about fuck all.

I would suggest that - "....yes on reflection - it was indeed clearly condescending and insulting....."

Would have been a more appropriate response.

This seems to be a day when Remainers - likely in the absence of sufficient apocalyptic news to report - are back to their bingo card

Leavers are:
ignorant, uncultured, uneducated.......

TBF - at least they have upgraded from thick, etc - which was afterall a bit tired.

BTW - new from my WhatsApp poll....

17 replies:

5 have heard of this fella (not sure what level of detail 'heard covers')

12 have not heard of him (the level of detail covered is pretty self-explanatory)

So.......

It seems that we have people that are a CEO, Sales Manager, a waiter, a Telecomms expert, a doctor, a BA pilot, a brickie, a chippy, a scaffolder and various other trades

in roles staffed by people that are all uncultured and uneducated - the country is indeed fucked.....
You have some uncultured dumb mates is all that proves, and some couldn’t be arsed to reply to you!

And thats just the hauliers - not the actual fishermen nor those who work in fish processing. I expect its squeaky bum time for any Tory MP with any of those industries in their constituency - turns out Geldorf was right and Farage wrong - who knew?

First it was the fish...now it’s the pigs

The GB pig sector is reflecting on its Brexit difficulties. (On the 30% vs 1% checks mentioned in the middle of this: That’s because NZ has an enhanced SPS agreement & the UK doesn’t; 30% is just the standard 3rd country frequency as laid out in EU rules)’ @BBC

‘The widely seen footage of overzealous Dutch inspection officials confiscating ham sandwiches transported by British hauliers is just the tip of the iceberg as far as the UK pig sector is concerned.‘

Days gone by:
Dominic Raab in the House of Commons 4/9/2018:
The UK will not permit a customs border down the Irish sea, which would put at risk the constitutional and economic integrity of the United Kingdom.

"over zealous"? They are applying the rules as they relate to a 3rd country - try taking a ham sarnie into Australia

The next ones to have issues will be exporters of spring lamb
