Why would the club be interested in the fans feelings on this?Have the club even run it past City Matters yet?

The problem is the leagues will have to back down. They stand with UEFA now but the amount of money the leagues will lose will see them change their minds.
Having Real Madrid and Barca in la liga is more cost effective than not.
Its a disgrace but the clubs have the power. FIFAs wet statement on this says everything
Except we don't have to suck it up do we?...... you will just have to suck it up I am afraid.
and USThis is driven by the US owned clubs.
Some very good pointsThat fucking clown of a PM Johnson is against it. It must be a brilliant idea then. Yet he is not a state interventionist and the government are huge fans of capitalism and love nothing more than protecting the gilded elite.
I wonder what all those people who voted for brexit think about it :))
Whatever will be, will be, and we can kick and scream and shout , we can swear and protest (oh no we cant its banned) then come KO time the Etihad will be full (apart from the empty seats of course) and the lads in sky blue will be supported, because that it what we do whether we are playing Real Madrid or Rotherham, AC Milan or Aldershot. We will still hate those cunts from Stretford and Liverpool will still be horrible cunts. On the plus side we wont have to play against that **** Vardy.
I expect there will be a compromise, where a European Super League takes the place of the CL and the PL carries on as normal. Teams in ESL will have enough money to pay for two teams and squads of 40 will be the norm. City will play 70 games a season instead of 50.
I do think it is really hypocritical of all these politicians on TV suddenly caring about fans, when they haven't given two fucks about us for a generation. Anything for a vote though.
I can't help but think though that UEFA have brought this upon themselves, they started it with their idiotic proposals for the CL and by involving non champions in the CL and i certainly will shed no tears about their demise.
how would we have though if we were in the 3rd division about to play Gillingham, would we be thinking we had been left behind and there was no future for us and we would have just slid into anonymity. With money comes power and with power comes more wealth, that is how capitalism works and unless all of you cunts are going to join me and become anti capitalist crusaders then you will just have to suck it up I am afraid.
Whose going Milan away?
It is but that’s irrelevant. We are 100% as complicit and corrupt as them. This is driven by the US owned clubs.
When you are receiving £350m every season no matter what, you don't need the revenues of fans in the stadium.I won't bother. I'm done with it. I feel sickened. The club are probably not bothered anyway as they can replace us with subscribers from China. If people in the UK stop going the next step will be them moving the teams abroad probably as it's more financially viable.
Reading a comment like this, it really hammers home that there are people who support the same club as you but who love everything you hate about about football and vice versa. It’s your game now, you can keep itI'm not as against this as everybody else. I'm not entirely convinced by it but I don't think it's a disgusting outrage either.
Firstly let's get real for a moment. Football has been broken since the 1990s. People talk like we're in the 1960s where all the clubs could have a similar chance of competition. We aren't and we haven't been for decades. A Leicester could happen once but the idea that you can build a sustainable challenger to the league using your academy, good management and transfer guile is farcical. United saw to that many years ago - to compete you need a billionaire to invest in you. That's the broken part, by the way. That you need that to begin with. The English game has been financially lopsided and killed competition 20 years ago.
So the competitive morality out of the way, we look at other things such as what will happen to poor Stoke and Burnley? Nothing, presumably. More to the point, I give as much of a fuck for their future as they did for us when we were going bankrupt. My emotions are tied to Man City and whats best for them.
The Super League is what's best for City. As a founding member, we're now one of the big boys forever. If there's a revolution in the UAE tomorrow and Shiekh Mansour/his family is deposed and he's forced to sell the club then its no problem. We're in the tent pissing out, permanently. The fact that we get to fuck UEFA on the way past is icing on the cake.
My only actual concern here is for the fans. It sounds like potentially 18 European away games to the final and you just know that the Final is more likely to be in Beijing than Birmingham. Affordability is going to be a significant issue and it's the only thing that's making me doubt it. If the club did something like a European equivalent of subsidised coaches then I'd be happier with it.
But yeah. It guarantees our post UAE future, it establishes us as one of the world's biggest clubs, it fucks UEFA, it will be the competition all the biggest players want to play in, it will earn us fucking bank, what's not to like?
so much for the principles our CEO spoutsWe have just gone along with it for fear of missing out.
Dead set against it but I think it was get on board or you're not getting in.I went to bed thinking I hate everything about this.
I‘ve woken up, had a think, and I hate it even more.
One thing that seems to have changed though is that however bad things got I would always be City first and Football second. I don’t want to get all moral and say I’ll start supporting City FC in the eighth tier but now it’s football first and City second.
We can’t support this. Only 5 out of 20 clubs qualifying through merit.
If we win it it means nothing.
In many ways, it is classic typical City to completely devalue the Champions League right before we play in a huge semi final.
Sure that will stop them raising season ticket pricing then? When you are receiving £350m every season no matter what, you don't need the revenues of fans in the stadium.
I would love to say we would reject it, but be serious, these clubs are all businesses now. 100% agree with your line in the sand, no jeopardy, no party. You`re not telling us something we don`t know.
Knowing the ramification for your team and as unpalatable as it is, would you do stay within UEFA or join this new Super League if Leicester were invited.
As I said in my post earlier. My real line in the sand is the closing of the new league to promotion and relegation.
Fair assessment. Having slept on it I’m still not happy BUT IF it’s happening to replace the CL, I’d rather be in it than not. It’s not like uefa have ever done City any favours. Its just a new CL with less teams without Uefa stealing the money from top clubs calm down.
Aint going to replace the PL or even change it.
There is bigger money in elite football than what Uefa wanted to share between top clubs, thats what it boils down to.
Looking at the numbers the difference was quite big.
Greedy? yes. thats the football industry for you. it wasnt running on good will in any of the last 20 years either make no mistake neither before.
Have the club even run it past City Matters yet?
Why would the club be interested in the fans feelings on this?
PSG are suddenly the only UEFA team left in the Champions League, hmm I wonder if cynically they are waiting to win it and then throw their lot in with this Super League?
They have the luxury of being in leagues where there are not another five or six 'big' clubs to choose from. They can afford to hold this at arms length and quietly climb down from their moral high ground later in the summer. No way munchen and PSG won't be involved.Yeah I reckon, there is no way that PSG or even bayern would not leave UEFA and come to this new idea especially with the money being touted from the revenue it will generate
I'm inclined to speculate he didn't know and the club wanted to tie up his services before he could have a chance to think about it.Has he told you that?
I completely agree with you but all these cunts are motivated by money. La liga will take £1bn with the big 3 bring half arsed than £500mil for a competitive league. The leagues will become pointless. What's the point when in our league for example 6 clubs are getting £400 million more each year than the other 14 clubs? They will just buy up the talent from all the other clubs cos who the fuck can compete? The Spanish League will become a bigger joke with 3 of their clubs getting double the money of every other club. Eventually it will end up splintering off and the Super League will become an actual league and not a cup competition. It's the death of football as we know it.
