What is the obsession with Delap? He is a promising kid nothing more, you think he is going to walk into the premier league and take it by storm? Never mind getting a place in the best team in Europe.

Fantasy, I would think he will be loaned out next season to a Championship team.

Its not an obsession,its a hope.

While he doesnt have Foden credentials.....Obviously people want an academy kid to do well,as such they will always big up his opportunity chances and his talent.It's far from an unusual situation,but i suspect many of those doing so have actually watched him play much.

We no longer have to hope for anything, we are the best, only the best get a chance in this side, who knows that could well be Delap, Doyle or whoever but at this time Delap is not ready.

I couldn’t disagree more. Every player we sign should improve the team, particularly a key position where we currently don’t have anyone good enough.

Adequate is nowhere near good enough, nor do we need to waste money on numerous squad fillers. Just signing Haaland or even Kane would transform us, even if we signed no-one else.

All we need is a world class reliable goal scorer.

The way I see it is we ain’t £100 million on no striker so that rules out haaland kane most probably Martinez and lukaku so we are then looking for the next best thing if there is one and I think silva from Frankfurt looks promising with torrres and delap coming through his season we will be good . And when I say squad fillers I don’t mean just numbers but very good promising young players who will become too quality over the years because let’s face facts a lot of our reserves are not good enough .

I didn’t say he is going to start every game intact I still said we will need to sign a quality forward but he will be on the fringes of the first team and we will see what he is made of ? As for a top centre forward do you think we are paying £100 mill for one ?

Yes, If the club want Haaland, it will cost 100m plus, and I think the club will pay that IF he is the one they want.

I think we would pay £100 mill for Haaland, or Mbappe, maybe with add ons and removing Sancho sell on even up to £120 mill . I doubt we would pay £150 mill though, but I don’t think anyone will pay 150 this summer and wouldn’t be surprised if Haaland and Mbappe went next summer for the clause and free respectively.

I think that we announced Aguero leaving so early, leads me to believe we have gone in for a top striker. I just cannot see us taking a chance on a lesser talent and Delap, not that he isn't a great prospect, but I can't see us going backwards in squad ability.

We are NOT paying 100mn on any player let alone a striker. That is not going to happen

Halaand is 75mn next year so most probably if we want him we will wait. Kane is 100mn plus so that is out!

I think Torres might rise to the occasion this year and Delap will get minutes but he will not be ready till 2023.

Honestly we managed without a striker season. Yes a striker can make a difference but its not the end of the world if we don't get one and we concentrate on giving Torres minutes and finding a back up leftback!

Also we need to find a CDM to replace Fernandinho

Do you think we're the only club out for haaland in a year? This isn't FM. To say that we managed without a striker is to completely overlook the fact we scored roughly 30% less goals than the rest of our prime seasons under pep and excelled this season through fantastic defense. Sweeping that under the rug is shortsighted.

You want to go into next season with 1 LESS striker, to rely on a 20 year old winger and an 18 year old talent with zero senior football experience?
