Can't take you seriously at all when you use phrases like 'project fear' to describe this. SAGE and the boffins cannot accept that project fear is coming to an end and its almost as if the scientists now cannot bring themselves to understand how exactly life will be.

June 21st will go ahead in my opinionWould have thought you'd read enough on here to understand - but anyhow, zero deaths is great news but the reality is infection rates are rising at a fast rate, it takes about 4 weeks from being infected for some to need hospital treatment and then die, so in a few weeks, it is likely deaths will increase - here's hoping treatments and the vaccine will keep it down but we're far from out the woods based on a holiday lag of zero deaths.
You didn’t put people awaiting operations alongside highly infectious Covid patients. That’s putting people at unnecessary risk and it would also worsen the waiting list situation as more operations would be cancelled.Why not?

I'm not saying they shouldn't listen to the scientific advice, just pointing out that we are at a good stage now and need to just get on with it.
SAGE and the experts don't want to escape being in the news that's the issue.

Thanks for reminding me. I posted the other key data from England hospitals a couple of hours back but forgot to add the admissions data over the long weekend,it totally depends on hospital admissions, as always.

How strange. A few of us were talking about that exact same thing at weekend and mentioned Monsall Isolation Hospital. Hospitals that were set up to keep patients with infectious diseases separate. What a fab idea that would be!!the NHS will need big money injection by the government to repair the damage covid-19 has done
more hospitals/doctors/nurses/staff/beds would be a good start. we will not get rid of covid-19 and i can see points in still having local lockdowns and tier systems. maybe having specials hospitals just for covid-19 patients so to keep them anyway from the others that need treatment for other things
i remember specials hospitals for bad viruses and TB and other stuff ? monsall hospital spring to mind because i use to go to moston brook high school and it was on the back of the play ground

The equivalent 7 days earlier were 98 - 85 - 75 - 77
Wk to wk overall that was slightly down.
The NW did have the most admissions but were not much different to a week earlier in the late teens to mid 20s.
All in all there is no real sigb yet of hipital numbers in England escalating much given the thousands of cases of the new variant.

Virtually everything is open. Maybe the last few restrictions will be eased on the 21st. If that’s delayed for a bit then so be it. We aren’t in any semblance of lockdown.
I agree it’s tough times for many but you are way wide of the mark if you think we are in a lockdown. Pubs and restaurants are open and one thing holding many hospitality businesses back is staffing shortages.If you was in the hospitality business, theatres, venues, restaurants, bars and pubs etc, then you wouldn't be saying that. So many are teetering on full collapse and closure. They bent over backwards to comply to all government restrictions and advice. They were the first to be closed and last to reopen, and under such restrictions they cannot sustain the loss of income much longer and still be viable.
Any extension to 'normality' and full opening will be too much for many...

Bury 144 / 67 / UP 77 Testing positive 9.3%
Salford 136 / 43 / UP 93 Testing positive 9.2%
Manchester 136 / 71 / UP 65 Testing positive 9.9%
Rochdale 95 / 58 / UP 37 Testing positive 9.9 %
