Harry Kane

Top class striker but we’ve dodged a bullet here -£125m + on Harry was never gonna be money well spent

As well as “lost a yard” and “injury ravaged “ we can add “lacks ambition” and “meek”to his bad points. He’s been bullied into doing something he doesn’t want to do. Any player of his stature in his situation who wants to leave and pushes it hard enough will be allowed to leave.
To be honest his performances at the Euros were very underwhelming

This signing could of been the difference from City finishing 1st to erm finishing 1st ;)

It makes not 1 difference.

let’s see who we can get before the window closes. Regroup and try to find a long term Sergio replacement.

I honestly see no problem that the deal could not be done.
Suppose it depends how much you rate torres. I don't rate him at all, cant see us finishing top unless we buy someone

Hope am wrong

Ah well.

I do genuinely wonder what happened in negotiations there. For some reason City were confident enough this would happen to ignore all other targets. I wonder what changed. Makes me think their might be some truth to Levy reneging on a deal and upping his valuation.

If you can't afford a player you can't afford it. All 3 parties are adults, accept it and move on.

Let’s be honest it was clear from the off that Levy was not going to negotiate and anyone who thought he was was blinkered by what they wanted not what was actually likely to happen.

No need to hope. We are the champions and have a good chance to win it again. If we don’t we will go into the market and try again.

well if you see a load of bollocks it’s probably because you’re balls deep in it and looking up.

I’ve literally had the best Messi info this forum ever had as it came directly from him. Two friends were both working on separate projects with him with Messi taking orders from one for 5 hours a day for a week.First time we were heavily linked with him I knew it wasn’t happening and he was openly raging about his tax situation in Spain and using us to leverage Barca and Spain. If city thought they had him that time, worse fools them. Jorge Messi 100% shafted us last year and when Messi became available this year, I think city couldn’t see past Kane and their damaged pride over last year. We may never know but I reckon he’d have come had we entertained it but didn’t want to deal with Jorge Messi again.

I’ve a contact in the agent world and most of what I get isn’t related to city but you can fill in the gaps.

you can literally piece news stories from reliable sources together to see what I put down was based in actual news doing the rounds. So bollocks it was not.

We clearly don’t want to lose Laporte but were happy to offer him to Spurs. He’s moody at the best of times and currently 3rd wheel so offering him to Spurs was insanity(unless you think Ake knows how to play football).

I know for a fact we were offering out other players to prem teams(names I won’t give out but have DM’d to our trusted itk’s to verify) and reading into everything now we approach the end of the window I can’t help but feel we’ve been very cavalier and somewhat disrespectful when it’s come to how we’ve gone about our business this summer.

but you’re entitled to think that’s bollocks too.

I do.

That’s if you think all the people involved in transfers at City don’t consider all these things.

Football goes on forever, it’s never about one season or one transfer window. Just like with Dias - who we got a year later than we needed a Kompany replacement - sometimes we get who we need at that very moment, other times we don’t, other times we eventually get them, other times we never do (we’ve played midfielders and right backs at left back for four years after playing four over 30s at full back for two years too long)… all the while still winning trophies.

City might well need a striker now, but it might be a year or two into the future before we get the one we really need.
I don’t for one minute expect us to attain our top target every time but it is bordering on negligent to go in to the 2021/22 without a first choice striker.

We can’t expect Pep to work miracles again. We won a lot of games by the odd goal least season instead of the 3/4/5/6-0 wins we were used to with Aguero playing regularly.

Called it. Obvious this was going to happen. What a waste of time.

It's the right move for City Imo. . £160 million for a 28 year old player with no resale. No thanks.
It’s not the resale why I didn’t want him, we aren’t a selling club.

It’s that I reckon he’s only got 3 years left in him and in 3 years we’ll need to replace de Bruyne amongst others

For £150M we should be getting a player like Mbappe/Haaland who Pep can improve and will have 10 years with us.

Vlahovic at £50M makes more sense to me over the medium and long term.

I’m still trying to work out how we/City are so incompetent that Kane had not landed ?
Kane apparently wanted to come and we seemingly put an agreeable package his way.
We then allegedly put more than one bid and Spurs/Levy said no.
I don’t think Levy has been a Cnut at all. He’s doing what he’s paid to do. He is not our stooge.
As for the ITKs on here. Either you believe it’s in good faith or put them on ignore. Don’t whinge like a dipper/rag when we try our best to get one over the line.

No doubt Pep's head will have wobbled it's way into to Txixi's office this afternoon and said "you'd better get me a fucking striker before this window closes".

Thank god the kane saga is over , i didn't want him for that price & his age.
Fairplay to Levy he stuck to his guns, pay a ridiculous price or fuckoff !
Kane & agents got to be thick has fuck , they should of inserted a buyout clause in his contract regardless of spurs being his beloved team .
Time to move on .
Kane's agent is his brother I think, says a lot about this total fuck up. It was now or never in my opinion and Kane has fucked it and we move on. Stay where he is and win fuck all. Well done Harry
