Harry Kane

Once the clubs had realised it wasn’t going to happen Kane had to be the first one out PR wise to try repair his image & relationship with them.

Haha injury record bingo. Tool.
Fuck you, check some facts before you start calling people a tool.

The evidence is there, pretty consistently picking up injuries particularly ankles.

Well I guess Im one of the 30ish % that are reasonably happy that this deal fell through. I can genuinely say that I never wanted him at the club right from the get go and believe he wasnt the player we should be going for....

Who we should be going for is a different argument and at present there doesnt seem to be any real alternatives

We need a forward BUT we may not get one this season and that may mean us not winning the league. Im more than happy with that risk as for me getting the wrong forward in (and I believe Kane was the wrong forward despite his stats). Next summer there will be other potential targets and maybe another youngster will break through somewhere in Europe/S. America that we can target (maybe even. Delap, but he is possibly too far off at present).

For me getting kane would have meant being stuck with the wrong forward for another 4-5 seasons and that would have been a barrier to getting someone else in the future (or at least for a few years). I believe he was an injury risk as well, well beyond the norm and those reoccuring ankle injuries have been played down (and then the ruour about his knee being fucked as well - though that could just be rumour)

It’s a terrible scenario for Spurs in my eyes and I’d be surprised if the fans didn’t know that once the initial joy settles down. Their best player wants to leave and has simply been priced out of the market, and by keeping him they’ve forgone a huge £120m+ windfall for a 28 year old and will still remain miles off the CL spaces. I look at how Liverpool are still using their Coutinho money and can’t help but believe Spurs could have done the same.

The only thing that’ll make it worse is if he picks up a serious long-term injury early doors, thought I hope not, but they do carry that risk.

Yes but the Scousers invested the "Coutinho money" in a special account which never runs out ,based on perpetual motion theory , as fast as they spend it , it is replenished by more "Coutinho money" ..it is literally the gift that keeps on giving

I'm quite happy with the outcome. Kane = le tissier. Spurs are shite even with him. Levy comes out of it as the hero... Just like ole at utd that should keep him at the helm for a few more ruinous years. Spurs have missed out on £150m. Kane isn't happy.

City have £125m to spend, there are plenty of other options that will come up.

The only problem will be the kane fanboys bringing it up every time sterling/foden/kdb/grealish/mahrez/jesus/silva/ miss a shot.
So, every week then.

Anyone else think the real reason Levy pulled the plug on this is being rejected by the targets they had to replace Kane?

Grimes (twitter ITK) reporter Vlahovic rejected them, Martinez rumours also went quiet and apparently Pau Torres rejected them.
