If he really wanted him, the club would have done what it took to get him. The fact they didn't, when he reportedly wanted to come, means they knew what he is (or isn't) worth, and that Pep is happy with other options including nobody for a season.
The fact they didn't even bother pursuing it into the final week of the window, and tried to land two other players at that point instead says it even more.

True, he did speak of him and quite clear that he was a target.
Pep says a lot of stuff. Including quite often mentioning how the club cunducts transfers, that there is never one single target but a few, and that is something tixi and khaldoon have also said.
This narrative that pep only wanted kane nobody else is something that was scripted by a few here and taken as a given by the rest. But it is entirely at odds with how the club typically do it, and how the summer played out, i.e not landing him, and trying a couple others.
Either way, next summer is a whole other landscape.

Club point of view will always be different than fans transfer wise, i trust the club because majority of transfer we've been doing so far, they have a wisdom and hindsight that we as fans don't get it at first.

We will never know how Fred, Sanchez, Ronaldo, Maguire etc would have performed for Pep and City. Maybe we are playing the greatest con of all on the rags. Either way it’s been fun watching their recruitment policy.

I think most on here agree we are happy we didn't pay a stupid price for Harry Kane. However, a lot fewer are prepared to agree that he would still be a great addition in January........for a sensible price!
The question should be .....NOT whether you would be happy for City to go in for Kane again in January; but at what price would you be happy for us to pursue him again???

About £50m-£60m or so.
But not at all if signing him jeopardises our chances of getting Haaland next year.
