I've had an electric chainsaw for a while. Get loads of pallets from work. lovely over coals on our open fire. Do need coals though, woods not hot enough
Isn't pallet wood treated and toxic as fuck when burnt?

Mine was £12 today so that’s £360 a month likely in Dec/Jan/Feb I reckon. Maybe more in Jan/Feb if a cold spell hits which is predicted next week. I reckon the £2500 they estimated will be pretty accurate over a year and the mild autumn helped. My DD stayed the same though as I was in credit and I’m now getting £67 a month back so at the moment I’m not seeing any difference.Winter officially begins tomorrow ninety days of winter. Our smart meter shows our annual usage currently £2080-00 for gas and electric . Our usage has certainly gone up this month, past thirty days £243-00, DD of £218-00 plus the gov.hand out of £66 our credit will rise a little. Have to say it's tough keeping the family inside to watch how they use things.
Same here we knocked our temp from 20 to 19 degrees and it helps a lot and the house is fine, keeping the heating on for 12 hours Saturday and Sunday worked out around £6 a day, if you only the turn it on for a few hours it takes ages to get to temp, leaving it on all day cost about £3 more as it’s just topping up. Mad to think last year was about £1/2 max!Mine was £12 today so that’s £360 a month likely in Dec/Jan/Feb I reckon. Maybe more in Jan/Feb if a cold spell hits which is predicted next week. Has anyone had their December winter fuel payment yet?
It's hit my pre-paid meter on the first in November and October but still not had it yet for this month
Just contacted BG. The payment failed to go to the meter on 1st December and is now in a queue to be added. If it's not added by the end of the week I have to contact them again....Yes.
Mine was added to my account in the 1st of December.

Same here, I reckon.I’m on track for £450 this month I reckon! Ouch.
Probably around £250-£300 for me, if I was on the price cap tariff, which I’m not. Christmas might bump it up a bit more though.I’m on track for £450 this month I reckon! Ouch.
My energy provider wants me to up my monthly payment by £20 to £220. Not a chance! I’m well in credit with an additional £65 coming in every month from the Government.
The £66 will be eaten up within a weekIf you don't mate, they will do it for you.
Found that out last week.
Wow. Tough times. Out local has cancelled its Sky/BT Sports contract. Don’t think it’s worth the outlay for the numbers it brings in and it’s a popular pub anyway so they must have done the numbers. Lots of places will close though unless the government step in for businesses.I have a confectionery business in Blackpool and we negotiate our gas and electric contract about 9 months ahead. Luckily we had a 2 year contract for gas that runs out Oct 2023. On that we pay approx £500 per month (£12k annually) We are currently sorting out our next contract. In previous years we would have an offer and have a couple of weeks to agree or not. Now we have a few hours.....yesterday we had to let the broker know by 3pm or it would go up!!!! We now have a contract for 2 years from Oct 2023 that is for £23k per year on our curent consumption. I have already increased my prices anticipating this and will do so a couple more times before then.
I feel for pubs/restaurants etc who will be hit very hard. Suspect many won't survive.
