Nottingham Forest (A) | Post Match Thread

cant and didn't watch MOTD- gutted, after all that hard work mid week. Lets batter Arsenal at our place and see what happens

Watching that game yesterday was spooky, I'm trying to remember which one it reminded me of but there have been a few. Old ground packed with baying locals, totally dominate, miss countless chances, score, can't add to it then concede with their first attack. Was it Burnley away when Sterling missed that sitter on the goaline?
Carbon copy of that match, even the same scorer as yesterday Chris Wood.

Ah well, just watched MOTD.

Fuckinell, Arse had some luck and we had absolutely none.

Villa doing their best to give Arse chances to score and they didn't take them yet Villa remaining in the game and going in front twice, could've been a 3rd time if the shot off the bar hits an unsuspecting goalie on the back of the head and goes in!
The 4th goal is the stuff we all dream of but rarely happens.

Compare to our game and those chances where usually the ball ends up in the back of the net, if not from the first effort but from ricochets, rebounds or whatever. (Think Arse's 3rd and the Laporte header and Haaland chance off the bar).

As for the Haaland Tug, players have been sent off for much less than that as last man, not a pen as probably outside box but not nothing either.

Any other day we win that comfortably, freak results yesterday and we have clawed back the lead over the last 4 games.

All to play for, Arse will think all their Christmas's came at once yesterday after we beat them Mid week, this is far from over though.

All about possession to much teams can get players in there box to block defend it easier less possession you have chances like the one foden messed up more clear cut running on goal

Baffled how a team full of talented goal scoring players couldn't score more than 1 goal yesterday against a well below average team, I've not looked but must of been in the mid 20s of clear chances

Just a quick thought and I’m prepared to be laughed out of BM afterwards:

If Pep can’t sub KDB as @alexmcity says because he played so well against Arsenal, could KDB, knowing he’s not playing well, not ask Pep to sub him for the sake of the team?

Is that too far out of left field?

7 points in a week with 2 hard away games isn’t a disaster at all, especially as we deserved to win all 3 comfortably.

I know it doesn’t work like this but if anyone asked which away game to win and which to draw, we’d all have taken what happened.

Any player asking to be subbed (without an injury) should be dropped to the reserves for a month.

The game felt like a 3rd round FA Cup game against plucky underdogs , we are most teams cup final , Champions of England and the most dominant club for a decade , there will be a few more games like this before the end of the season with clubs fighting for their lives.
Our next away game Bournemouth is going to be another war of attrition , uit if we play as well as the Forest game we will have no problems , because i cannot see us missing a dozen scoring opportunites again , lightning doesnt strike twice and all that.

What pisses me off about this game is how almost everyone was wasting easy chances, if it was one guy having a bad day at the office that's one thing, but to have several top level footballers missing sitters is inexplicable.

Are we worse this year or is the league tougher?
I think both.
Whoever wins the title will be the worst champions since Leicester.
Champs league will shed some light on quality of premier league.
Utd and Chelsea results midweek suggest it is high.
Bayern and PSG though were playing at a different level.
It will be interesting to see how we fair on Wednesday.
What is frustrating is if we could find pre WCup form we would walk the Prem and have a good shot at CL. Continuation of post WC form will leave us with nothing.

Nah.. you could tell kev knew he was struggling from his body language but that would have made him more determined to do something special as the game went on rather than giving up and asking to come off
