Carbon copy of that match, even the same scorer as yesterday Chris Wood.Watching that game yesterday was spooky, I'm trying to remember which one it reminded me of but there have been a few. Old ground packed with baying locals, totally dominate, miss countless chances, score, can't add to it then concede with their first attack. Was it Burnley away when Sterling missed that sitter on the goaline?
Ah well, just watched MOTD.
Fuckinell, Arse had some luck and we had absolutely none.
Villa doing their best to give Arse chances to score and they didn't take them yet Villa remaining in the game and going in front twice, could've been a 3rd time if the shot off the bar hits an unsuspecting goalie on the back of the head and goes in!
The 4th goal is the stuff we all dream of but rarely happens.
Compare to our game and those chances where usually the ball ends up in the back of the net, if not from the first effort but from ricochets, rebounds or whatever. (Think Arse's 3rd and the Laporte header and Haaland chance off the bar).
As for the Haaland Tug, players have been sent off for much less than that as last man, not a pen as probably outside box but not nothing either.
Any other day we win that comfortably, freak results yesterday and we have clawed back the lead over the last 4 games.
All to play for, Arse will think all their Christmas's came at once yesterday after we beat them Mid week, this is far from over though.
23 shots on goal, 6 on targetBaffled how a team full of talented goal scoring players couldn't score more than 1 goal yesterday against a well below average team, I've not looked but must of been in the mid 20s of clear chances
...and the goal came from the hardest chance. Still well pissed off.26 shots on goal, 6 on target
Away form is the issue, 50% win rateThis Season we don't look likely to string two good back to back wins together so not confident that we can go on one of our famous runs .
Any player asking to be subbed (without an injury) should be dropped to the reserves for a month.Just a quick thought and I’m prepared to be laughed out of BM afterwards:
If Pep can’t sub KDB as @alexmcity says because he played so well against Arsenal, could KDB, knowing he’s not playing well, not ask Pep to sub him for the sake of the team?
Is that too far out of left field?
But, but, people (fans) thought he should because he wasn’t playing well, therefore it would be for the team?Any player asking to be subbed (without an injury) should be dropped to the reserves for a month.
Big time, really deflated tbh
Nah.. you could tell kev knew he was struggling from his body language but that would have made him more determined to do something special as the game went on rather than giving up and asking to come offJust a quick thought and I’m prepared to be laughed out of BM afterwards:
