Would you want VAR scrapped?

Maybe start sacking the refs Attwell is either corrupt or likes the power of telling refs to change the decision! Fact is Attwel has been involved in more shit decisions than any other referee I can remember! Needs sacking by Web!

Surprise surprise, fucking Atwell again!
He needs fucking off once and for all.

Rashford Bullshit goal v City
Newcastle goal v Arsenal bollox
Wolves penalty debacle last night.
In a collection of incompetent officials Atwell is off the fucking scale. When he's on the pitch he acts as if VAR doesn't exist (the swamp last season), when he's on VAR he ignores the "clear and obvious error" rule and effectively makes the decision himself. The on-field ref at Fulham should have told him to piss off when he viewed that last "penalty" on the monitor.

This sounds like an absolutely shit idea.

Exactly what we need is more of this shit.

I swear to you, do these people who get these fuckwit ideas actually go to matches? Have they ever experienced the agony and the ecstasy of a match? Do they actually know what being a football supporter is all about?

What we need is less, not more VAR intervention!

Wolves have probably been screwed over by more VAR decisions than any other club this season. I wonder if we'll get 2 weeks for discussion about them like we had for Arteta's insufferable whinging about a correct decision.

I watched the game last night on my phone, without sound. The first Fulham penalty looked nailed on in real time. Then when slowed down you can see there's a touch on the ball first. So I was expecting it to be overruled. It's a clear and obvious error - the ref didn't think he got the ball, he did. That meets that parameter in my opinion. The second penalty was again soft, but there's contact - so I can see why it was given and not overruled.

I said yesterday, can you imagine they got a goal ruled out like our 2nd at the weekend - in a game of that stature! Fuck me, we wouldn't hear the end of it. Club Statement would be issued. Arteta would have a melt down. The players would have a melt down. Instead Pep just said he didn't see it, and Ake said it wasn't the reason we didn't win the game.

Chris Evans got it right on the radio today.
Make games longer so more adverts.
More interesting for Yanks.
More controversial decisions.
Look at f1.
Race lasts 90 minutes but they drag a weekend out of it.
Won't be long till its a 2 hour game played in quarters.
They are saying now var to look at corners and throw ins .
The games gone and getting worse every week

If Sly didn't have their feet firmly in the rags' camp and just for once took an objective view, they could bring more widespread attention to the issues surrounding the use of VAR.
Sly have both power and influence, probably more than any other media outlet in this country when it comes to sport, so if they spent more time scrutinising the ludicrous decisions these officials are coming up with week after week then something positive could be done. Instead they'd rather give precious airtime to Ratboy and Spitty so they can spew their bile over anything Man City-related.
These two cheerleaders are given free rein to stand on their soapboxes and spread their bigoted, prejudicial, cliquish views to an audience of millions and millions and no one can disagree with them. They are allowed to spread their vitriolic, anti-City statements, fanning the flames of discontent amongst rag and dipper fans across the globe who see us as the devil incarnate. They are actively promoting a campaign of outright lies and deceit in order to tarnish the good name of the club we support.

If Sly genuinely did have the interests of our national sport at heart, they would concentrate more on how inept (and almost certainly corrupt) the officials overseeing the game are, rather than promote the partisan, dogmatic views of a pair of semi-literate has-beens.

When a team gets a throw in that didn't come of the opponent it's right for me to be looked at and would take seconds

For me the games gone when they can't even get the most basic of on-field decisions correct.
I really don't like knocking the refs as they do have a tough tough job with the speed of the game, hostility of the crowd and the players bending the rules as much as poss. No way could I be a ref.

but when you see a massive deflection and it goes wide then the ref just points for a goal kick, or a throw in decision and you know the lino doesn't have a clue so he's standing there for a few seconds deciding which way to GUESS, blatant no contact diving given as free kicks etc … then for me all these things add up to be rather ridiculous.

I don't want VAR controlling every aspect, that would be ludicrous. but just for a ref to very QUICKLY check on something he isn't sure of would be preferable for me than just guessing. IMO.

Gary O’Neill is being a one eyed fucker. He says they’ve been screwed out of 7 points by var - did he take account of the clear sending off missed on Hwang in the first half v us? No I didn’t think so. At the time it was one all and he went on to get the winner. Fuck me what would his reaction be if they’d had a goal like ours chalked off on Saturday, he’d have a heart attack. Him and the wolves fans are the most one eyed in the premier league, every fucking decision disputed when we were at their place

But you couldn't guarantee that! When you see them taking anything up to three minutes, inexplicably, to decide on decisions that are clear to everybody, fans, players, ref and his linos, VAR for free kicks and corners would be yet another evil out of Pandora's box.

Three minutes of doing absolutely nothing — sitting around in the case of the spectators, standing round in the case of the players — feels like an absolute eternity in the stadium. Of course, it wouldn't affect anyone sat at home watching it on the telly. They'd just go and brew up. But there you have it — the game is less and less about the matchgoing fans.
