I have watched City for best part of 11 years in Europe and seen numerous decisions go against us with and without VAR.Liverpool x2 games ,Champions League v Chelsea (Reece James handball, assault on Kev etc)I could go on, we NEVER got the 50/50s.That would all be fine if we could find UEFA's version of the guidance for referee's, they hadn't issued a statement at the start of the year stating that they want referees in Europe to use the actual Laws of the Game when determining handball to give less stupidly harsh handball decisions, the VAR guy who gave the decision yesterday wasn't stood down from today's games and UEFA hadnt made a statement saying that the decision was wrong and shouldn't have been given.
All the evidence available this year suggests UEFA are trying to make handball decisions across Europe closer to the way they're made in the Premier League, this way we hopefully won't get the same ludicrous decisions we had last year or late on in the game yesterday.
Unless anyone can find the guidance that says that UEFA are directing referees to use different guidance to the FA, because I've looked and can't find it.
