Would you want VAR scrapped?

That would all be fine if we could find UEFA's version of the guidance for referee's, they hadn't issued a statement at the start of the year stating that they want referees in Europe to use the actual Laws of the Game when determining handball to give less stupidly harsh handball decisions, the VAR guy who gave the decision yesterday wasn't stood down from today's games and UEFA hadnt made a statement saying that the decision was wrong and shouldn't have been given.
All the evidence available this year suggests UEFA are trying to make handball decisions across Europe closer to the way they're made in the Premier League, this way we hopefully won't get the same ludicrous decisions we had last year or late on in the game yesterday.
Unless anyone can find the guidance that says that UEFA are directing referees to use different guidance to the FA, because I've looked and can't find it.
I have watched City for best part of 11 years in Europe and seen numerous decisions go against us with and without VAR.Liverpool x2 games ,Champions League v Chelsea (Reece James handball, assault on Kev etc)I could go on, we NEVER got the 50/50s.
El Khel
How did he fuck up ?
He did what was asked of him.
Al Khelaifi is on the Uefa exec Committee, surely no corruption here ?.

The useless fucks have just ruled out a goal for Sevilla after a 'handball' on the halfway line !. The attacker stood right next to the Sevilla defender hooked it any old where. Unfortunately it hit the Seville player on the body and deflected onto his hand. From there they broke and scored.
A totally accidental handball and Var ruled the goal out.
Var and Uefa are just a total disgrace. No one on the pitch saw it as handball just Var.

I have done my own research and can't find anything to back up your claim that "the rules are different in Europe".
As I can't find verification for the claim you have repeatedly made I asked you to provide proof of your statement, that's how burden of proof works.
You can't just throw out any old nonsense then when asked to back up your theory reply "do your own research", that's how conspiracy theories work not actual factual statements.
So you have nothing to prove the rules aren't different then

Not sure you’ve been watching very closely if you haven’t noticed a few very generous penalties given to City in Europe over the last couple of years.

I think we all agree on Var not working as it should since it’s inception every weekend there are issues after the games. I also think players should be looking at themselves pretending to be injured and rolling around.

Apparently VAR chose to show the referee a couple of stills showing the ball hitting Livramento’s elbow and a slow mo from an innocuous angle where you couldn’t see the ball hitting his chest. Meanwhile on his way to the monitor the VAR was telling the ref why it was a penalty. The ref then doesn’t ask if there’s more angles and the speed of his decision seems to suggest he’s looked and decided it’s just hit his arm.

I mean, you’d almost think it was manipulating an outcome. The VAR has been stood down but the ref needs a debrief on his actions as well. He’d had a pretty good game up to that point.

This referee did the World Cup Final and City's Champs League Final. You don't get much more experienced than that and yet.........

To follow up my own post. The ref has just refused a handball penalty for Bayern when the ball accidentally hit a defenders arm.
The whole thing, Var and the refs is a disgrace. They are not fit for purpose.

All the clubs in the premier League should refuse to use it. This semi automated seems slightly better than the shit we're getting now

I’m not paranoid but isn’t last nights decision following the usual UEFA agenda - they WANT PSG; Madrid; Barca; Bayern; scum; an Italian team; dippers in the knockout stages. Newcastle are suffering like we did (& still do to some extent) & are also a financial threat. Can’t let another oil club overtake the “special” ones
Just seen that Newcastle’s offices been raided by HM Revenue - & now

Newcastle United have been to court to stop HM Revenue and Customs using material seized during a raid of the club as part of an investigation into an alleged multi-million-pound tax scandal there.”

Not sure of all details but it seems they are being targeted in the same way as us.

What I want to know is why scum & dippers; Arsenal etc etc don’t suffer such “raids” by authorities- not to mention in depth investigations by PL FA & UEFA of their accounts, especially off shore ones

Well we all know the answer don’t we

@CC1 The raid was when Ashley was in charge and part of a criminal investigation. That came to nothing so the HMRC have passed the seized documents to the civil enforcement side of HMRC.
Newcastle went to court to say that shouldn't be allowed as it would not have been allowed to be seized in a civil case and therefore should not be used. The judge disagreed.

But yes why are the red tops never targeted.

Bebé ?

Red tops would just get a “smack on wrist” for small transgressions!!

Weren't United, Arsenal, Villa and maybe Everton? investigated and had to pay back taxes around the same time as Newcastle?
I had a vague memory of there being issues with a few clubs around player sponsorships and paying tax, that was part of why we changed our player sponsorships setup from an outside company to bring it back in house around the same sort of time, I think this is part of the PL investigation.
Don't know if this is related to this issue or if the same will happen to the other clubs involved.
