PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Newcastle have the financial might to challenge the whole ffp fiasco in a court of law, I hope they do. The premier league is digging its own grave with this nonsense but they're too stubborn and stupid to see it. A breakaway league will be formed as a result.

I see an awful LOT of opposition fans, football fans in general, harping on about how the PL is fixed, full of cheats, corrupt etc...

The PL really are shooting themselves in the foot.
It's also becoming a common chant from the terraces now, which can be heard in living rooms all around the country during a televised game.
Not a good look for 'the product'

The vast majority of those saying that are the same idiots mentioning the 115 charges.

It's the 13 clubs who voted for this have shot themselves in the foot. Many opposed to FFP told fans of the clubs outside the 'big 6' this day would come.

Nah, the PL took the bait. It is their product, they made the decision to press ahead in such an explosive way.

I

It's mad how these sort of people can stand there, in front of a camera, being broadcast to hundreds of thousands of people, and show that they haven't a clue about what they are talking about. I wouldn't be able to do it. I'd be thoroughly embarrassed knowing people who actually do know their onions are sat there watching, shaking their heads at me, thinking what a pillock.

Media people of various persuasions are clearly immune from the embarrassment of knowing nothing about the topic they are pushing.

The bigger clubs wanted it. The premier league put what those clubs wanted in writing and teams like Everton were stupid enough to vote for it.

I feel sorry for Forest because they didn't have a say in the rules.

Everton wanted the rules, they can fucking die by the rules.

I’d love to know who instructed - and who approved - the framing of City’s charges in such a novel way, ie weaponised for maximum reputational damage. I’m hoping we’re all over that issue, because it was done for a reason and with genuine malice towards our club. And I hope, when we eventually win, we hang the bastard responsible by the bollocks from the PL Headquarters building.

I wonder how much the fact that our majority owners are Arabs/Muslims plays a part? Not many owners in the PL are of the same faith.

Unbelievable that basically the rules in place stop clubs from spending ( or owner’s spending their own money ) and being competitive and competing, which other competitive sport would this happen in totally a shambles..

Need to check to clear up an argument

Have we actually been charged with anything?

Or, as I believe, the PL have made a number of allegations that will be heard by an independent commission who will then advise the PL if there are grounds to actually issue charges?
The word charge is misleading because this is not a criminal case. The press keep using the phrase that the PL have "charged" City. The PL is a sporting body and has accused us of breaching their rules. It is wrong to use the word charge in this context. The media like to hype things up.

Agree with everything except for the last sentence. United, Arsenal and Liverpool are the Premier League. The formation of a new league without those three clubs would have little appeal to broadcasters. Unfortunately for Everton, Wolves, Newcastle and Forest, they need the PL far more than the PL needs them.

How can’t people understand that charges for 1/2 things is going to take a lot less time than dealing with 115 different charges when the 1/2 pled guilty & the 115 rejected the claim & has to be investigate further. You’d think it would be REALLY obvious but apparently not
And the charges aren`t even connected to the Everton and Forest charges the thick twats.

I doubt most understand, they just see FFP / FSR and assume that City have broke it 115 times Very few have looked into the charges or what they maybe. Not one of our charges as a stand alone charge amount to anywhere near what Everton were accused of they breached FSR to maintain their PL status ate the expense of other clubs they then lied amount loans being for the stadium and also claimed many time more in Covid losses than the next a highest
Of the 115 we are accused of in fact breakdown to 5 on multiple years
I wonder if the PL has examined Everton's finances back to 2008 like they have done with City.

They're not included. The top clubs will either join a superleague or start a new version of the premier league.

Think it's more that we've taken income streams from the establishment.
I do hope this Independent regulator wrestles back control from the redshirts and gives it back to the fans. Absolutely loved it when Cloughie took on and beat the Dippers which to this day Alan "kids" Hansen refuses to acknowledge as a great team.Tells you all you need to know about the self entitled clubs who spoil it for everyone else.

If the Forest thing is true it just shows what a farce it is, there's no other businesses in the World that's finances are as dissected as those of football clubs, often by people who could potentially be informing rivals, the clubs financial plans, it stinks and is totally wrong and is totally anti-competitive.
That's why we have to have an Independent regulator for football. The PL will be left with the job of organising football without the regulatory powers.

Hence why the PL or UEFA won't use the word "fraud". To do so would trigger a criminal investigation & take the whole process out of their hands.

The PL know what they're accusing us off isn't fraud in UK Law, so if this farce was treated criminally, it wouldn't even get past the CPS & would be over.

Breaching the rules of a private members club, & breaking UK Law are two totally different things. It's total self serving bollocks by UEFA & the PL, at the behest of the G14/Sky four plus Spuds.
