PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The absurd thing with this is the PL are getting rid of the rules they have used to sanction Everton and Forest for a new set of rules. From uncharted waters to uncharted waters. How do they know the new rules will work better? They are hoping they are better, but only time will tell. Sheer lunacy. PL leadership not fit to run football. Total idiots. End of rant.

That's easy. They will work better because United won't fail them.

Just shown a clip on BBC Breakfast of Forest fans doing just that. I just ignore it now, you can’t teach the stupid.
The what about City narrative has been pushed by sections of the media, especially the BBC. It deflects pressure away from the PL hierarchy. It supports the existing narrative that City are “getting away with it.” Some fans are being manipulated as usual and are too stupid to see it.

Was it something like a million quid? Remember reading that on the back of the Manchester Evening News and thinking City would be rich, then you saw how much Murdoch was prepared to buy the rags for.

They initially bought 9.9% don't know if that got reduced in later years?!

Business: The Company File

BSkyB buys into Man City

BSKyB will hope Man City repeat last season's promotion

Rupert Murdoch's BSkyB has bought a 9.9% stake in Manchester City football club.
Just months after £629m bid by the satellite broadcaster for Manchester United was rejected on competition grounds, BSkyB has agreed to buy the stake in its less illustrious rivals.

BSkyB already owns a 9.08% stake in Premiership leaders Leeds United.

Broadcasters see holding a stake in major clubs as a way to gain influence in future rights negotiations, with the possibility of clubs coming to individual agreements.

On the way up?

Football Association rules allow no single company to own more than 10% of any one club.

First Division Manchester City can expect to make about £12m from the deal with BSkyB, which also includes £2m for the broadcaster to have global rights as the club's media partner.

BSkyB will have a representative on City's board, and further money will be raised from a new rights issue to existing shareholders.

Although City have languished in the lower leagues in recent years, the club has a strong supporter base and is currently leading the chase for promotion to the Premiership.

City chairman David Bernstein said: "We have broken historic ground today and I'm sure it will delight our fans.

"We have massive support and BSkyB have recognised that.

"This investment puts us in an elite category of clubs and is in recognition of our great potential."

Seriously, I think Sky has been very hands on, and influential, over the Premier League’s decisions over the last decade.

Sky stole football from the league, greasing many hands so they could create the Premier League. They then proceeded to build their whole sports package around the red three, plus Everton and Spurs (the original big 5).

When Chelsea broke the power base through unprecedented financial investment, Sky were the first to drive the narrative to discredit any Chelsea success. Until they realised that it wasn’t affecting the 3 red teams that much, they were happy to let Everton and Spurs slip back as the subscriptions kept increasing, and Sky was becoming more accessible around the world.

2008 the laughing stock of English football, a once giant of the game, a bankrupt club in the making Manchester City FC, would shock the football world with the takeover by Sheikh Mansour and the signing of Robinho.

From that moment in 2008, City faced discrimination, lies, and collusion involving some of the most powerful people/organisations in football, and media, driven through greed and fear, they set their plans to stop another Chelsea type project.
Hey, we weren’t that bad in 2008, I enjoyed most of the Sven season, did the double over the scum and qualified for Europe!

the media are reveling in this pitching everton against forest and forest against everton then getting advisors to wind up more the "what about city " pile on

You can't blame fans of other clubs for saying stuff like that. First, it's a comfort blanket that everyone likes to have when they are caught out. What about the other guy? Second, they are fed the narrative by the press 24/7 and this is where the real blame lies. The BBC with Roan and Stone are as bad anyone. Their job is to inform their readers, but they just continue the cycle of telling people what they want to hear and reinforcing complete nonsense. It's easy for them to correct, but they aren't doing it.

This should involve the National Football Fans Association .

When was the last (or first) time they were involved in any meaningful matter ??

They should be explaining (simply),to supporters clubs and fans generally, the background, source, implications and solutions to relevant matters. If they can’t they shouldn’t be in ‘office’

Additionally, the NFSA should then be mobilising enlightened fans to take direct action against any offending body who are ruining and stealing the game from ‘the most important’ investors.....the fans !!

City are repetitively painted as the cause of most problems since the investment by HH Sheikh Mansour when the reality is totally different. It is this total misrepresentation that influences the thinking/responses of other fans ....a viscous circle of mis truths and negativity.

One day (not too soon) City may be thanked for their insights, actions and solutions that will change the face of football administration and management.

Manchester thanks you Sheikh Mansour.

DELICIOUS !!
“A viscous circle…” Mansour will be tarred and feathered.

There was never really a big 5 in the 80s though IMO. From what I can deduce, that was a PR campaign bought and paid for by those very clubs. The original plan set in the late 80s, was obviously to create a legitimate big 5 in the PL era. Then it quickly became a big 3, when it eventually arrived. Spurs were a mid table club at best for the first decade and half of the PL era. Everton faired slightly better without really challenging much(how many title challenges, how many trophies in the PL era?).

It was a big two at best going into the PL era, Liverpool for the success(miles clear of everyone in major honours with 32 by the end of the 80s), United(15 m-h) for their attendances(have to give them that unfortunately).

Arsenal(16 m-h), Everton(14 m-h) and Spurs(14 m-h) had no legitimate claims to put themselves above the other traditional top clubs of old english football. There were too many clubs, too close to them to claim they were bigger. Wasn't there only 1 televised game a week for most of that era(Liverpool taking most of the limelight)?

Had quick look at this organisation- looks the usual toothless, cap doffing, placatory, running alongside and not creating too many waves accessory.
Weasel words regurgitation.
Revolution.

Let’s organise scrutiny of them and a campaign to remove the deadheads with an ‘action based’ group who truly understand the issues.

Notable BM commentators Dr Garry James & Prestwich Blue would be the sort of balanced intellectuals who could lead not mislead !!

I wondered who'd be first to spot it & comment.....you must be very busy today
