Genuine question, are the club not appointing a ticket compliance officer ?, if so is that not because they are also pissed at situations like last night and want it to stop? I cant understand them paying to bring someone in if their remit will be to stop something we are accusing the club of profiteering from?, could this not just be fans racking up the £ by reselling to 3rd parties for big games.
The post as advertised a few weeks ago if I remember correctly

Quick question: Is it possible a large number of City fans who aren't on the scheme decided to wait until the result of the first leg was known before committing to the second leg, by which time many tickets had gone to tourists and touting sites?
I had a few friends who are ST holders and on cup scheme payment failed and they missed the notifications

Nearly happened to me but I spotted the email on failed payment

I assume their tickets went on open sale

Completely forgot until just now - there was a group of kids (maybe about 40 or so I assume a travelling team) in Family Stand (near the front - level 1) trying to get a friggin Mexican wave going in the last 20 mins

I thought at the time WTAF is going on with our ticket policy for such a big game
This is where we need the supporters club or city matters to step up and question the club on how tickets are being distributed.

Maybe starting with the touts around the stadium that are doing it right under their noses?

Had a look for the Wolves game out of interest and on Viagogo they're all premium seats 93:20, tunnel club etc. LiveFootballTickets seem to be all upper tier and you're able to select up to 4 seats. Might explain when I'm in Colin Bell L3 there's regularly Americans, Eastern Europeans, Scottish kids etc. 100 percent convinced the club are involved in this- be it directly or through an agency.

Multiple major issues with City ticketing last night.

There were far too many tourists there to have just been the amount you always get for big games with the odd blue reselling his ticket to make a bit of extra cash or the general increase in tourists because of extra UEFA/club sponsor tickets.
It seems to me there must have been at least a few thousand tickets given to these legal touting websites, obviously sold on for a much higher price. I say given because again, there's no way they could get that many without collusion with the club.
All of this means that there are then less tickets in the matchday criteria pot to be sold officially, so members like me miss out. There are clearly at least a few thousand tickets robbed by the club away from proper fans with membership, leading to a scramble amongst members for tickets.
Clearly the club don't care about this though, they must make more selling batches of tickets to touts who sell to tourists who spend more in and around the ground anyway. Soriano's Barca strategy in full flow.

Another issue is who on earth our sponsors are giving free tickets too? Why are Aldar giving free hospitality suit tickets a united 'fan' and his 'influencer' friends. Why aren't the club being more firm against this, when our sponsors are giving tickets to people actively supporting the opposition??
I am not convinced by the conspiracy theories posted here. For years I have seen long-standing season ticket holders posting on here that they have never been to a Champions League match and had no intention of ever going to one. This always leaves seats to fill.

Now we are getting moans about lack of availability of tickets.

In the early years, there were loads of school parties present in our block. This is no longer the case but it has a very different crowd than for a League match.

Travelling on the train from Edinburgh yesterday, there were loads of people travelling to the match. Two were from the Edinburgh area and one of them had purchased the two tickets through his Blue membership. Another was a German from St Andrews. He hated Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich but was a neutral.

Obviously a lot of tickets go to countries, particularly China, Malaysia, Indonesia, etc. where City are looking to built up their presence.

I can’t think of any reason why tickets would be dumped on third party sites as opposed to selling to City supporters if there was such a pent-up demand?

Quite possibly, but that doesn't explain the large number of tickets going to tourists and official touts.

The club won’t say. They will say it’s sensitive commercial information. Even a breakdown of a % of where the away tickets are going to has been rebuffed by the club.
Ie they go to the biggest bidder

I thought it was a bit flat in the first half. Not sure if it was nerves, but there wasn't much noise coming out of the singing section either for large parts of it.

Second half it was decent, people were singing more and trying to get the team going, and it was catching more around the ground.

There are season tickets holders around me, in East stand L3, who aren't in the Champions League cup scheme. Sadly, last night I had Real Madrid fans sitting directly in front of me, next to me and behind me. At the end of the match it got a bit heated on the stair well. If City don't sort this issue of large amounts of away fans in the home stands it has the potential to really kick off and put people in harms way. We slag UEFA for not caring about fans welfare but the ticketing procedures we currently have are shockingly poor and don't prioritise City fans and their safety. Safety is more important than money! City, sort this out.

For anyone who is interested, there is a YouTube video “Don’t try and sit with City fans”
Basically 2 asian City fans filming and 2 Madrid fans Jump up behind them when they score.

City fans take offence to this and one Madrid fan get’s a slap and they are forced to leave.

I hope there were no family/children about - again, well done City FFS

They dont give a shit - ive tried b4 believe me - dont want to listen - we need to all get together and demand they listen

The club as we know now don't give a shite about our traditional fans. Working class kids in Manchester have no chance of ever going to watch City. God help us when us FOCs start dying. They will be fcked.
When pep leaves that will be the beginning of the reset

I was sat in SSL3 yesterday and there was a family of about 6 Madrid supporters behind me. They cheered when Madrid scored and a lad a few seats down didn't take too kindly to it. Towards the end of the game everyone was pretty much stood up, one of the older guys pushed me in the back and gestured for me to sit down as he didn't want to stand and watch.

I hope you "pushed" him back
