PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

We have all been through the mincer and all we want now is for this whole debacle to be put to bed.
Hope is raised for the 1st time in a long time. Some will run a little too enthusiastically with what's been purported and some more measured.
But we all want the same outcome.
A cleared club is also, in effect, a cleared fan base. We are the tubthumpers that face the real music from friends and rivals and must defend on the hope that what we have been told is true.
To be doing this for so long can fray even the strongest nerves. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the fans have mild ptsd after this is finished. It really is that traumatic.
TH's reports are like water to the starving man.
Anyway, I've waffled on and mixed way too many metaphors in my last 2 posts, so I'm gonna make like a tree, and get the hell out of here now :)
Will we ever be cleared though you only after look at Hillsborough to see a legal ruling doesn't necessarily change the opinion of many.

Personally, I believe anything positive that anyone says about us and I dismiss anything negative. I therefore believe that we have sent legal letters. I believe that those who have been sullying our name for years are now silenced and I believe that will will completely clear our name. In all matters City, my objectivity rings out far and wide, from Claremont Road to Kippax Street.

So your vigourously agreeing with me. :-D
If the attempt to show fraud (criminal law) is not proven than most of it is not proven.

In your last post you said fraud could be established but due to the age of the charges we would escape actually being punished.

All I was saying was that this simply isn’t an option

I understand the rules and take your point but a penalty given for a foul committed after the forward has completed his play cannot be right in logic. Perhaps in those situations an indirect free kick would be appropriate. Minus you VAR would probably cock that up too
I thought the Wolves player put Guardiol off his shot at the time, which if it happened anywhere else on the pitch would be a foul, and a booking if the player wore sky blue. I will look at it again sometime. Now lets have a discussion whether the push on Ake just before half time should have been a penalty. I thought it should and expected the ref to start the second half with a penalty to us, like united that time. Some fecking hope;-)

Never heard of off the ball?

I’ve been playing and watching football since 1975. I think I’ve seen enough to know the rules.

You clearly don't understand the rules if you think an indirect free kick should be awarded for a penal offence (foul in this instance) if the offence occurs off the ball.

For example, a scenario where Ederson approaches an injured opponent in City's penalty area whilst City have the ball in the opponent's penalty area. Ederson then deliberately kicks the injured opponent, whilst the ball in still in play, just before Foden shoots and scores a goal. The correct decision is to send Ederson off and award a penalty against City.

Edit. Sorry to have to explain the Laws of the Game in this thread.

Does anyone think the PL will still go ahead with the case if the rumours are true just to save some face and to give the impression the PL tried to charge City with the 115 allegations rather than just giving up and trying to agree a deal with City in private? UEFA tried again and lost at CAS. There are numerous instances of this happening with the Police, the CPS, newspapers and other organisations that knew they were wrong and wouldn’t win the case, but they still went ahead with the case and lost.
It's not a "case". The independent panel reviewed the Prem's submission and basically told them "Fugget About It! What are they going to go forward with? They're sitting there with their dick's in their hands....

when was that?

I'll buy that.
Before it was city played great but the 115 charges and City have a game next week but the 115 charges etc etc.
Just skimming through any City related stuff on YouTube, and where the comments sections were liberally sprinkled with attempted snidey put- downs and accusations and numerous repeats of their favourite number until very recently…..……now I can’t see any at all.
It‘s almost as if someone said something in someone’s ear.

The PL will look a bunch of prats whatever happens. We just disagree as to which outcome (losing in court or dropping charges) is the lesser of two evils from a reputation perspective.
I believe that if the charges are to be dropped it will happen just after the end of the season in the hope that the Euros will concentrate minds elsewhere.
If they had any sense they'd drop the charges immediately. It's the only chance they have of knocking us off the 4-peat. Right now we are singularly focused and it's damn near impossible to knock us off our mission. Not that I think it would work, but by announcing that we're cleared now there's at least a chance that we lose just enough of our focus to possibly encounter a slight slip. As it stands, Pep has the bit firmly embedded in his teeth and there's no way anyone is going to outwill us over 90 minutes...Personally, I want us to maintain the chip on our shoulder for at least 3 more weeks,,,

Fucking he’ll, you know what I mean. It is a case. It’s a case/charges brought by the PL against City.

I know, but I'm saying the "case" needs the green light from the commision in order to proceed to a hearing and I'm firmly among those who believe the panel has already given the PL the thumbs down. And I'm willing to bet anyone anything they want that it's already over.

Regardless of the letters, could it be that certain outlets have heard that City have argued the case to a sufficient degree that the case has no merit?
Has it got to that stage yet? Surely the information is has been examined by the lackeys ready for be KCs to do their best Maybe just, maybe the lackeys are saying we can’t find sufficient evidence to proceed, this would need the exit strategy that has been talked about

100%. And that is where I am too. That is a balanced way of putting it.

I am not claiming letters havent been sent out, I am not claiming tolmie is lying, I am not even saying I don't believe it. I do. I even pointed out where I perceived a 'mood change'.

What I am saying is those two up to interpretation snippets are not proof as claimed and certainly not that we have been cleared.

It is ironic, that people that have jumped to that conclusion and arguing something I never claimed, are the same people that have run away with other daft conlusions.
Bob on, Coat.
