Dani Olmo




Some rumours surrounding Dani Olmo this summer. 51m quid release clause for the Spanish lad who speaks fluent Croatian as well, so he would fit right in ;). He is from La Masia, so he would fit right in with the Pep system, very experienced despite only turning 26 this month, versatile (right, left, middle). Very talented, IMO, but had some health issues throughout his career. A bit like Gundo in that regard, so our medical staff must be confident in their ability to help.
 
Another useful player but probably not on the transfer shortlist. Same with Paqueta and Guimares it is going to be a player that we weren't heavily linked with.
 
To me, it’s the kind of signing you know you can make in the last week of the window if someone triggers Bernardo’s clause and he wishes to leave. Similar price as well. If we have landed our main targets and that scenario unfolds, then fair enough, but it’s hard to make a case for chasing him ahead of others.

Some of his play reminds me of Palmer.

We don't get many penalties to boost his stats.

Personally I'd be a little surprised if the clause with Silva was not time limited to the early window, to allow us plenty of time for recruitment.

This completely - or it Paqueta isn’t cleared in time, can’t see us doing this early doors

Gundogan is one example, true, but we have other players whom we have only been able to patch up and who have been unable to play consistently for seasons. Similarly, other clubs are wealthy and have access to the same medical specialists.
We already have an increasingly small number of dependable players, and given the pressures this season and the summer will exact, adding someone with a documented history of injury concerns strikes me as imprudent.
 


With the Paqueta news out, surely this gets done now? 51m quid release clause.
