Altercation at Terminal 2

One was an officer of the law trying to do his job in extreme circumstances dealing with animals. I think the officers HAVE the higher ground and acted admirably.
The officer stamped on the head of a man clearly already restrained. If you think that's 'acting admirably' given his position of a police officer then we will just have to disagree.

Are you a firearms officer though? We rightly hold them to high standards. If they can't meet those standards they are cut from the team. That's the reality even if some think it is harsh.

I agree that he should be off the team - he made a bad mistake and should (at the very least) be taken off armed duties. That's for the Police to decide internally.

I'm saying that it's impossible for employers / trainers / colleagues to identify whether or not someone will 'crack' under pressure, or how intense a situation us going to be.

The lad made an unfortunate but, given the circumstances, understandable error of judgement in my opinion. That should be the end of the matter as far as the public are concerned.

Yep agreed.

Some people and “countries” seem to think that they can start fights / wars and when the victims of the initial attack start gaining the upper hand they’re expected to stop and deny themselves the chance to secure a tactical advantage just because the initial assailants don’t fancy it anymore. Tough luck.

Fights don’t work like that. Don’t start em if you aren’t prepared for what might happen.

Mate, that comes across as a little racist and I don't agree, and this wasn't a fight, one was upholding the law the others were breaking the law and had to be dealt with.

If they hadn’t started acting like cunts, the police would never have got involved. It's not rocket science; don't mess about with the police. Apparently, according to rumours, they'd caused hassle earlier on in the day as well.

He wasn’t restrained and other than those couple of seconds had behaved like a lunatic-a lunatic who can punch

I do wonder if the police requested toxicology-it’s an intimate sample under s62 of pace which is to help confirm or disprove suspect’s involvement in offence-here due to some intoxicant.

Difficult one sometimes for the inspector to authorise because it’s all around the confirm or disprove element when the offence here can be made out without that sample-but nonetheless it may have been requested-I do wonder if they were under the influence of some drug.

What they could’ve reasonably expected to do was to cooperate once told they were to be arrested-just another mundane job..

He had a taser in his arm when he booted him. If he felt he needed to he could have used that instead, maybe he didn't because he checked and was told that he'd already been tasered.

Just because he didn't go full Falling Down doesn't mean he exercised sufficient self-control.

Aye, he could also have knelt next to him, and politely but authoritatively asked him, are you going to hit us any more or is that you done. But you do have to take the circumstances, pace, and tension into account here, however.

Jesus there’s some right clowns on this topic who have been bought up in a lovely little world . Let’s just say if a bunch of city fans went to most airports in the world and two of us got involved in an altercation with armed police and assaulted them and knocked two females to the ground we’d be coming home in a body bag or we’d be sat in a cell right now getting tortured. There lucky all they got is a taser and a kick to the head, get physical with armed police and expect serious consequences.

Altercation on a Qatar Airways flight

Second altercation with another group at the Starbucks in T2.

Third altercation with police officers.

They don't sound so squeaky clean anymore, whatever fate befalls the police officer, these cunts deserve a long stretch behind bars.

Exactly. What do they expect? The dibble to ask them politely if they can refrain from being a **** and stand back and get whacked. These tossers were being called brave soldiers on social media when all they are is wankers who deserve a fucking good hiding. The world is going soft and if you start shit you should be prepared to face the consequences instead of going online playing the race card

Bravo Bravo

Just watched the news. It seems this group had been causing trouble in at least two other places before this. The copper go a beating as his two females colleagues go a beating as well. The copper go away from his attacker and tasered him. Than tackles the one who attacked his two female colleagues. The copper deserves a medal.

No he's not others have said the copper may lose his job because of his actions. They are in black and white, why are you lying?
I think that’s correct-there’s a distinct possibility his actions may be ‘judged’ to be excessive, not necessary and not proportionate.

It’s clearly an emotive issue though because there are mitigating factors as well as deciding whether he had an honest belief that his actions were reasonable. It’s a hugely complex case.

Even were he not to face criminal sanction he will likely still face misconduct proceedings and could lose his job.

That said it’s also reasonable to have no sympathy for the other parties. I hope they are swiftly brought to justice.
